Hello!
I am a student who applied to Amherst for Fall regular decision. We can share our stats, or just talk about the process..and share our mental breakdowns the day decisions are released. Haha..

    Anyone got their account info. If so, when did you submit.

    @Malcomx99 Got mine 4 days ago. I applied on January 1st, 2016.

    Yeah I got mine also. Although, I asked admissions, via email, regarding my account. And they were nice enough to set one up for me, in a couple of hours. I'd advice the same, if you still haven't gotten an account.

    So nervous haha! Anyone know exactly when the decisions come out, or when they've come out in previous years?

    There's a thread somewhere with decision dates for lots of colleges from previous years. I think it's the last week of March most years. But, if you have high financial need and are being flown in in for accepted student weekend, it's possible you will learn about a week sooner, they do that so kids can make flight arrangements.

    I'm wondering whether the official AP scores need to be sent to the school? The AP scores were self reported in common app already.

    Um, they don't need to be sent to the school. But unfortunately I didn't know this, so I sent in all my scores ;-; Mai money T^T ...

    No. And Amherst doesn't accept AP scores for credit at all, though they can help you take a more advanced course in a few cases.

    This thread is dead!!! I don't know about everyone else, but I'm really looking forward to hearing from Amherst. When are some guesses for decision day? How about any guesses about the infamous early writes?

    Last year Amherst released decisions 2 days before the Ivy League schools, probably similar timing this year

    Some people did find out early (the 20th?). My daughter found out after the 20th but before the official announcement- I want to say the 26th. It was by email at about 2:30 PM. Others learned on the 27th; definitely before the Ivies rolled their decisions out.

    It was a Friday last year so if I had to guess I'd say March 25 this year.

    And any guesses on early writes?

    Something weird happened in the fall. I sent my Amherst application in much earlier than the deadline, and I guess they thought I was an early applicant by mistake. So they emailed my guidance counselor for first quarter grades. She told them I wasn't applying early but I still think it was funny, and maybe a good sign.
