Does the cheating at chhs make you wonder

they caught kids at chapel hill high school cheating and have said it has been going on for years. it inflated the grades, class rank and all else a joke.
so wonder who did not get into a school because a kid that cheated did get in. exactly how much do the admissions offices really check up on and how much is true on the apps?

    If someone, let's say, copied another person's homework for 4 years. Cheated on tests and was an all around slacker, the schools will never know. They won't have a reason to question it unless they get like a letter from the kid's school or something. I don't really think there's a way to check this.
