Art Institute of NYC Closing, what happens to my debt?

Anonym55Anonym55 Registered User Posts: 1 New Member
I attended the Art Institute of NYC a few years ago. They are closing due to fraudulent recruiting and finance management. I supposedly owe a balance to the school (not loans, but directly to the school) and have been unable to get my transcripts. The school is scheduled to close in 2017. What happens to that debt when the school closes? Will I be able to get my records from the records repository after they are transferred without having to pay the supposed debt? Everything I find is about loans but mine is owed to the school so it wouldn't be eligible for a loan discharge.
