For full time students

Do alot of people take Friday classes?

Do most people have classes every day or do they have one or two days off during the week?

I've taken Friday classes every semester in college. I've also had classes everyday so I don't have a day off. I've also had 8am classes my first three semesters and this semester I had 9am classes everyday. Next semester I won't just because thats the way things fell into place.

I (and most everyone else I know) have classes M-R only. I only know a few students who have Friday classes, but this may vary depending on your school (mine offers very few Friday classes.)

I know some people who make it so they don't have Monday/Friday classes, but a lot of times people have classes depending on how the classes they need fall into place. Some people just pray they get the classes they need. Same thing goes for times. My second semester I ended up 8am classes every day, and this coming semester they start at noon. That's just how things fell into place.

It varies. Where I go you usually won't have a lecture on Friday, but you might have a discussion or lab. Most classes where I go tend to be scheduled either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday, with either a lab or discussion (for most) often on Friday but occasionally on other days. It can be pretty easy to schedule nothing for Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday, but harder to schedule nothing for Friday because of this.

It depends on how you manage to schedule things. I had no Friday classes last semester and I won't next semester, but I had one Friday class this semester because the class I needed was only offered as M/W/F. The majority of upper level classes at my school are T/Th or M/W, so once you get past the lower level courses, you tend to be able to avoid Friday classes more often. It just depends, though. That one Friday class I had this semester will be my last; all my remaining required courses are two-day-a-week classes (M/W or T/Th).

But that's at my school. It really depends on the school and the courses in question. Different classes are offered on different days, so it depends on what classes you need and which sections are available.

    Thanks everyone.

Another question, is it weird that I want to schedule my classes starting at 11am? I know most people start at 8 or 9 and I have done that in the past and it doesnt really work for me.

I have problems going to sleep at night unless I take meds but I wont have much medicine anymore since that was just temporary because I hurt my back. I usually cant fall asleep until 3 or 4 am which causes me to sleep until 12 or 1 (im not in school right now). This also makes it extremely hard for me to wake up. I missed plenty of classes due to this. If I do happen to wake up at say 9, my brain is always real foggy until midday. Some people may just call it lazy but it a very real problem to me.

Im trying to start my new school off right. 11 is still a little early for me but its better than 8 or 9am. My brain wont be AS foggy and I'd be a little more alert. I dont want to miss classes just because I cant wake up I rather it be for a real reason like if I catch ill. However I really dont want my future roommate to just think Im lazy, I mean she could be getting up at 7 every morning.

btw im on my phone so excuse my errors.

No, that's not weird at all. Ideally, all my classes would start at 11, too. Unfortunately, it doesn't often work out that way. Sometimes, you create the perfect schedule before course registration and then...you don't get all the classes you want and have to settle for less ideal ones. I wanted a research seminar next semester with only 12 seats in it, but because I had to register for more classes than usual (thanks to my business school's "core requirements") I hit "submit" a few seconds too late to get into the class.

So I had to replace it with a different class, and the only one I found that I thought I would like is a 9:30 class. I was planning on not taking any classes before 11, but...that's just what happens. And I'm a rising senior, so no, it doesn't always get better with seniority.

You can try your best to get classes starting no earlier than 11, but it may not always work out.

I have had Friday classes every semester I have been at school. However it is generally just one Friday class that is over before noon so it's not bad at all. I did have one semester where I had a Thursday off but I ended up working all day so it wasn't really a free day.

Most people don't take classes before 10 or 11 o'clock at my university. Be warned this probably won't work out for you if you go to a big school. There are plenty of classes at are only offered in the morning.
