The skills on Lit, for the most part, come naturally. There is no real way to 'prep' for it besides having read extensively throughout your life.

I agree. I just wanted to know which prep books were good to supplement my studies. Any suggestions?

I used the Barron's prep book, it is good, it helped me a lot and I got a 780. As to what sharker said, it is true that I have read extensively and do well in literature classes, but studying the book helped me to increase my score from what I got on practice tests I took before studying. So, although a natural ability certainly does play a part in getting a good score, it is still worth it to study.

I would suggest reading the classics in-depth.

@Pooja97 I am using Kaplan for Biology and Lit, think Kaplan Biology is not as good as PR's Bio, as PR involves less reading and shows you what you really need to know, whereas Kaplan gives giant paragraphs after paragraphs and I got lost easily..... I would suggest using PR first and then Kaplan to study extensively...
as for lit, Kaplan's questions are so hard!!! idk maybe they are supposed to be hard... but Kaplan is the only book I have now for lit...

The personal statements in the link provided in post #11 are for admission to schools in the U.K. They would not work well in the U.S.

To those taking Lit, what were your CR scores? I get usually low to mid 600s but surprisingly, Lit isnt so hard. I get the same scores.

800 CR, about 680-720 Lit in practice tests. :l

@Abbybabs How is the level of difficulty in Literature section different from the CR section on the SAT?

    Barron's
    Princeton Review
Avoid McGraw-Hill! Usually a good source of tests but not for this subject.
