AMA: Former Transfer Student into Haas

Hey guys - haven't been on this board in a long time, it's been 10 years, hah. Figured I'd try to help those going through the transfer process now. I remember the process was so confusing and overwhelming when I went through it.

Were you able to get internship offers as a transfer student ?

Any comments regarding recruiting & job placement ?

Yes - I did two internships, both were unpaid but got me good experience which helped me juice up my Berkeley apps. Both were finance related roles and were related to what I ultimately decided to pursue from a career perspective. To be honest with you, at the time when I was doing this there weren't many services out there that helped college kids find internships. I literally just cold called every single firm I thought could make room for me. If I recall I probably reached out to over 100 firms with a <10% hit rate but I eventually landed something. It takes a lot of work but it is definitely possible. Nowadays I would recommend networking and pinging people on LinkedIn.
