@jym626 I lost some on my own and then joined Noom. I think this is the healthiest, nongimicky way I've ever lost weight. I think I can see myself keeping it off this time.

Our D gets maried this weekend! We are doing a lot of the work ourselves. Having church coordinator team that are super organized and hands on helpful is a blessing, along with dear friends stepping up and taking on key roles day of wedding will allow me to just be MOB on wedding day.
Massive heat wave is forecast to dissipate, with temps dropping just below 90. And zero chance of rain! We are indoors but setting up tables and tents outside also for the large number of families with kids to have more freedom to run on lawn and access church's playground.

@daylily1, gift bags have been discussed in depth on this thread so you might be able to search for those posts. In our case, I made gift boxes that were in all the guest rooms at the hotel. Some goodies that my guests enjoyed were customized m&ms, subway maps, water, favorite snacks of the bride and groom, and a mini-emergency kit (Advil, safety pins, band-aids etc.). They can be simple or elaborate, depending on your budget and patience, but our guests did comment on how much they appreciated this little touch.

We found the restaurant that will cater the rehearsal dinner for the Oct wedding. We are having it on the front lawn of the bride’s parents home and it will be lovely. There will be 80-100 guests because we both have large families and the bridal party is large. All of their plans are coming together and there is no drama that I’m aware of. I found a dress from Nordstrom, sent it to my D who moonlights as my stylist and she said order it immediately. It fit and all I have to do is find shoes and have it hemmed. Whew! I’m divorced and my ex has had an unfortunate relationship with the kids since and it’s all of his doing. My D is highly doubtful he will come (he didn’t come to her college graduation last year). It weighs on me because I don’t want him to disrupt the weekend and yet I can’t imagine not having your father at your wedding. My S is pretty stoic about it and he hates any drama. Fortunately I have a very supportive family who are traveling across the country from FL to CA to be there.

@rom828 - I am divorced also. My kid didn't want to invite their dad's SO to the wedding and he wasn't too happy about it. I was concerned it would be awkward, but both of us walked her down the aisle, everyone was on their best behavior and everything went off without any drama. I did everything I could to be pleasant, which included keeping any negativity out whenever I had to interact with my ex because it was all about my D that weekend. I think if your ex were to come, mostly likely he will behave and be there for your daughter. I was very apprehensive before the wedding, so I know how you feel.

Thank you @oldfort. I followed your story and all others where parents behaviors are uncertain. It’s my S who is getting married and is inviting his dad with few expectations. I can only hope that he comes and it’s a non event. I would have never guessed I’d have this concern. People do change.

Today was rehearsal at church followed by casual buffet dinner. AC is out at our church and repairs are in the works. Ceremony and reception at church on Saturday.
Mom and step dad of groom hosted lovely dinner. Mom gave opening welcome and remarks to the couple, and before dessert my husband gave a tribute/toast to the couple. Given the AC issue, i was suprised how relaxed i was at dinner.
Tomorrow is reception setup at church and a team of bakers and cooks in the kitchen. Followed by a game night and meet and greet at our neighborhood clubhouse.
Feeling really good tonight. Happy for Our D and her fiance.
