West Hall / Bowdoin

Hello - we are interested to know if the common room associated with doubles in West Hall is carpeted, or should we bring an area rug with us? We did look at the details offered on Bowdoin’s site (blueprints, et al), but didn’t see any mention of the carpet, one way or the other. Thanks!

It isn’t carpeted so you will have to buy your own rug if you want carpeting! This is true of all the first year dorms for those wondering.

Ha! You must be ladies. Our S19 and his roommate (who will be in Osher) haven't discussed any decor. I figure he can wait until he gets there, see what size rug is best, and order one on Amazon. We are flying to campus so I don't want to pack one anyway!

Thanks so much for the responses! Very helpful. The suggestion to wait and use amazon is definitely one I will consider! My daughter’s roommate is an international student, so I’d imagine we’d be providing a few of the bulkier items (only traveling from MA). I’m also wondering whether the common room features a couch of any sort. 😊

@garvey All common rooms have a couch. Google "bowdoin dorm tour" and you'll find two videos of the dorms. One is a double. One is a quad.
