I think putting that down would actully show negatively for your character. Either way, you should get an official tribal record. Very few tribes would consider you a member with 1/8th. That means, what, your grandmother was half? Do you have any cultural identity?

    I have an enroll-ment number and a card, and i get about 20,000$ when i turn 18.

along with that i can go to a free college on there reservation and get free healthcare there as well.

What tribe are you from? I've never heard of those benifits being given to a person who's only 1/8.

If that's the case, then certainly put Native American. But don't put 1/8th. Putting 1/8th of any URM race down makes it look like you are just trying to take advantage of a practically non-existant aspect of your identity.

Well, if that's true, then you'll have an advantage. However, I still can't believe that they would extend those benefits to someone who's 1/16th. Do you live on the reservation or have any cultural roots connecting back to it?

Isn't it a little dishonest taking advantage of something that you have no roots or connection to? If you were 1/8th black, would you ask for aid from the united negro college fund?

im not asking for aid essentially..
but yes, if you are 1/8th mexican, you are able to do that.
it says on the application if im 1/16th you are able to..
