It's well known that colleges care more about how dedicated you've been to an extracurricular than how many you're involved in, so I'm more than a little worried. For the first two years of highschool I was involved in volleyball, which prevented me from participating in any clubs because by the time the sport's season was over, clubs were no longer accepting new members. Tearing the ligament in my left wrist (I'm left handed) is preventing me playing volleyball for the last two years of high school, which means now I have the ability to join the clubs. I think on the common app, it only has 4 slots to put your extracurriculars-so is it going to look bad to colleges that 3/4 of the activities are going to only show a 2 year participation? If so, then is there any way that it's possible to submit a reason as to why this is so?
