I love Emory so much, and giving me a chance would be the most helpful thing in the world!
BTW, I'm going to be applying for Early Decision

ACT: 33 (English: 32, Math: 28 :( , Reading: 35, Science: 35) (Going to be retaking this soon)

Taking two SAT subject tests soon, in literature and math 1

GPA: 3.3-3.4 ~

-Part of a organization that petitions against human-trafficking (I'm on the staff of it, but it's a very, very small organization)
-Editorial Intern on one magazine, and a First Reader on another magazine (In other words, I'm on the staff of two different magazines, and MAYBE a third one if I'm really lucky)
-Regularly volunteer at my Temple
-Part of a volunteer organization at my school
-Volunteer hours should be around 300+
-Accounting Club
-Interned underneath a psychiatric doctor at her clinic for about a month
-Shadowed a group of surgeons in India and watched them perform invasive heart surgery, spinal surgery, and neurosurgery.

-Won two first place district prizes at Pin-Making and T-Shirt design in SkillsUSA
-Won the second place district prize at a writing competition
-Attended the Iowa Young Writers Studio (21% acceptance rate)
-Published in two journals, one for my fiction and another for my poetry
-Wrote a History Research paper for the Concord Review, hasn't been published, but I thought I would include it here anyway.
-AP scholar with Distinction

APs taken:
Statistics (3)
World History (3)
Environmental Science (4)
English (5)

Senior Course Load:
AP Biology, AP Physics C, AP Gov, AP Econ, AP Calc AB, AP English IV, Health, Forensics (Will likely drop this class)
And yes, I am going to be taking the AP test for all of my senior year classes.

Teacher Recommendation: Rec Letters would be coming from my AP Psychology teacher, and my Creative Writing teacher.
Counselor Rec: I go to a school with 2500+ kids, I doubt my counselor knows my name.
Interview: None

Race: Indian
School type: Purely public, but still a very highly ranked school.
Income Bracket: 150k+
Gender: Male

Your GPA and rank are low and your scores aren't really high enough to overcome that. Write a really good essay on why Emory is a good fit and also give some thought as to whether Oxford would be a good fit. If it is, apply; if not, please don't. You can apply ED to Emory College and Oxford, you can apply to just one, or you can apply ED to one and RD to the other--all with the same app and materials. The decisions are made separately.

@aigiqinf‌ I heard that Emory really likes people who have lots of writing experience (due to them having a very good writing center), so wouldn't that help?
