Need insight into the impact of a bad midyear report!

So I applied to Emory through ED II and they requested my midyear report, however, I will be receiving 3 Semester B's out of the 7 classes I'm currently taking. This is my most rigorous course load yet and my grades will likely be as follows:
-AP Statistics - B
-AP Music Theory - A
-AP Environmental Science - B
-Adv. Journalism (school publication) - A
-AP Macro - A
-AP Literature - B
-Seminar (required class by my magnet program) - A

My current GPA is at a 3.73, and a 4.51 weighted. My SAT scores are a 790 Reading and 700 Math (1490 composite). I've generally demonstrated an upward trend in grades however, I'm deathly afraid that my 3 B's this semester could ruin my chances at every one of the schools I applied to (16 schools and mostly reaches). How detrimental could this report be for my decisions, particularly for Emory ED??

Obviously, it’s not going to help. But it’s one semester of seven on your HS record. I don’t know how to quantify the impact.

Do you have the recommended 2-3 safeties in that large number of applications. It shouldn’t change anything at a safety.

For a match school, it makes the application less attractive, but it’s not a huge red flag.

For reach schools, and those where you were on the border, it could negatively impact the decision.

I did apply to two safety schools and I also hope that being an ED applicant to Emory could help reduce the damage of the new grades a bit. Thank you sm for the reply!

Emory, I think, is not so numbers-driven. I don't the the B's will kill you- they are in tough classes.
What would really help offset these B's are some high Subject test scores- did you have any to send in?

Ah I have a low 700s score on the Literature subject test so that probably won't do very much for me, but thanks for the insight! Fingers crossed :)

They would rather see what you are doing, which is challenging yourself with tough AP courses, than taking it easy. There are different ways of looking at things. You mentioned that you have an upward trend, so the other good news is that they will not factor in your 9th grade GPA into the Emory recalculation of your GPA. Also, don't let anything you read on CC get your hopes too high or too low, especially when it comes to Emory. They go beyond the scores.

The literature subject test is actually very hard. If it is low 700s, I would probably have sent that.
