GW Crew Team

Does anyone know anything about GW Crew? How early in the morning are the practices? Do you have to do all of your erging and lifting weights on your own time or does the team do it together? I contacted the coach and he said practices for varsity were in the morning (he didn't say what time). Also, what is the deal with the novice team? He said something about how experienced people can row for the novice team if they aren't qualified to be a varsity rower. Does this mean the novice team is like a combination between people who have never rowed and "jv" people? I've rowed all four years and I'm on varsity now, but I'm short (5'5") and my erg scores are definitely not a 7:40 (more like 7:58..). I don't think I could stand rowing in boats with people who have never rowed but I'm also not actively being recruited either. Also, do rowers have time to do anything else? I'd like to join a sorority and participate in other clubs and things. Thanks for all your help!
