Creating a Business as a Highschooler!!!!!(Advice NEEDED)

Hey Guys

I created a non-profit business with some of my friends all over the country that I met at summer camps, over the course of my junior year that sells clothes and takes donations and sends the money to an orphanage in Lebanon. However, every time I try to explain it to my classmates they are like "but you did it for college right?" or "that looks good for college". But in reality My friends and I created it because we sincerely wanted to help, in fact, I even put almost all the money I made over the last 2 summers, how do I explain that to classmates, teachers, adults, and especially in my essay for college?

P.S. I didnt even know that colleges cared that much about EC until last May, and I didnt know there were EC essays until September

You write your essay with sincerity, and state your motivation (avoid writing anything like "I really didn't do this for college, but rather for ....." It'll draw attention where attention shouldn't be drawn). If you speak honestly and from the heart, that will come across clearly, and most kids who do things for college tend to do less time-intensive things. To pull off something like that requires something more than just college drive. Good Job!

How did you pick Lebanon? Do you have family there?
    How did you pick orphanages?
    How did this come about?
Will you continue it when in college? Or can you pass this charity to someone else?

Also it is great that you are contributing your money, but ask your parents how you are expected to pay for college expenses...are they expecting you to pay for your own entertainment? food? tuition?
You may need to save some and give some.

You can also say "Looking good for college is a happy byproduct, but my family is from Lebanon and we were realizing how much privilige we have in the US and wanted to give back. I plan to keep up the charity while in college."
