I was looking at Emerson, and i was wondering if I could double major in MT and theatre education. They both require the same stagecraft and beginner acting classes, and from there they are mostly different. I think it can be completed in 4 years, but i don’t know if I can even do it! Help?

I don’t know anything about Emerson but I think you should call the school and ask. I called many a school and questioned the heads of the departments about options for my daughter. They were delighted to talk about their programs. The theatre people could tell you if anyone before you has double majored.

@bethsmom THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

When my daughter auditioned there this past December she asked about double majoring with MT and they said it was not possible to do it and finish in four years.

Yeah, I know that some schools say that, I was just wondering since they have classes in common and because I will have a few AP credits and such. @broadwayorbust18

Often it is because the required classes can conflict with one another when trying to schedule them. And not all s classes are offered every semester. It just really depends on the school and what you are trying to double major in.
