Out of state (Minnesota) 3.45 GPA (Top 15 percent in the class with a 29 ACT)
500+ and counting hours of community service (at 3 different hospitals)
President of local teen city council group
Two years as officer of student council, and three years in total.
Owned own business since 8th grade (Selling Jams at the Farmer's market grossed 10K+)
Worked for two years at the same place, second year as a mechanic
200 Hours of Pediatric Cancer Research with a manuscript pending for publication
IB Diploma Candidate
Eagle Scout and leadership position in Boy scout troop. (I did my eagle scout in a year and five months which 0.000001 percent of the population has done)
LOR from City Mayor, Doctor I did research with and two teachers who are great friends of mine.
I've got three more mentorships with doctors lined up this fall and fingers crossed will bust out three more manuscripts for publication by fall of 2016.

I'm taking a full schedule of all HL IB classes next year (I wont have a lunch because I'm taking so many classes)

What are my realistic chances at getting into NYU?

Is your high school super difficult? Usually a 3.45 GPA doesn't put someone in the top 15%.
Anyway, your chances aren't the best, but manageable. Write some awesome essays and maybe get your test scores up a little and you have a solid solid shot.
