Can anyone talk about these subjects please?

I can at least give you a general overview.

Research is very easy to set up at Olin. You can fill out a form and get approval for an independent study in practically anything you want to learn about. If you want to do more technical research, it is easy to attach yourself to a current project being done by a professor or design your own. Many people, including freshmen, get really involved in research here. Because we are an undergraduate institution, Olin students are working with professors to get all of our academic research done.

Internships are pretty easy to get (for the summer; most people are too busy to have internships during the academic year). I got one in architecture after my freshman year with practically no experience. Even though our alumni network is not comprehensive yet, the post-graduate planning office works really hard to get us connections through parents and through meeting company representatives.

A lot of your classes will have open-ended projects attached to them, especially in your first year. From there, it just sort of depends on what classes you take. Even the more traditional lab and lecture classes often have a project-based component. Many of these are devised by the professors, but if you want to do something completely different, they are open to you designing something new.

Does that help? :)

Crazyyak said it all. Olin not only promotes all that, it requires them, especially the projects.

GOOD NEWS (it’s small change for most colleges, but nice to see)
