Chance me for Stanford Open High School - 2370 SAT!

Stanford University Online High School

I am an Asian Male 8th grader.

I am ONLY taking math classes (AP Calculus) at OHS next year as a Freshman. I am taking English, World Studies, etc. at my other regular high school.

Grades: 2 A-s, rest As (no A+s possible) but the A-s are in English (didn't read book for 1, got like 93.9 for other), not Math.

I am taking Algebra I currently because my school does not allow skipping grades. However, I am willing to take a placement test to get into Calculus BC because I took Precalc and Trig Honors at CTY in 6th grade (ended up getting an A- because I got a terrible score on my final). How does the placement work there?

SAT: 2370!! (will apply for SET) 790 CR, 800 math, 780 Writing

The catch is that I have no outstanding ECs such as being a swimming world champion. I was on my school's mathcounts team but we did not get past the chapter level.

Does anyone think I can get into AP Calculus BC, or Stanford OHS in general for that matter?

You have awesome grades and I think they'll be more than enough. As long as you do some other stuff casually maybe playing rec soccer or something.

The only problem is that I took the SAT in January, so the regular deadline is already past(it was on February 15th). Nevertheless, after I apply for CTY, I will ask for a letter of recommendation from SET. I might apply like two weeks from now. Do you think I can still get in??

Some courses might fill up and if you need FA, you're gonna be in a tight spot. But you do have the grades for it.

You're almost definitely going to be accepted. About the EC's: a few of my OHS classmates do not do much outside of school, although I am a swimmer (but no world champ). Expect to meet many phenomenal classical musical prodigies at the OHS though.

PS: To the best of my knowledge, the only 15 year old swimming world champion is Katie Ledecky :p

It is awfully late at this point to apply for the entering class of 2013 at the most selective schools. Remember that by March 9th, enough admissions letters are sent out to completely fill each class, and then some. If you apply two weeks from your post (after acceptance letters have gone out,) you will only find a space IF they don't have their anticipated yield from admitted applicants, and IF those who are waitlisted don't fill the openings that thus become available, and IF you accepted given these constraints. A number of boarding schools offer rolling admissions post March 9th, and most offer a fantastic educational experience. I don't know anything about the Stanford Open High School, so pardon me if none of the above advice applies. Good luck!

To be frank, you have an awesome chance and should go for it! Good luck! (Though I doubt you'll need it)

It is, but ECs are important too. And the deadline has passed already.

Your apps look strong, but what about the other components?
