You guys seem to know a lot about this stuff…so, ahem, rate my chances please.

accomplished musician (awards/reqs): piano, cello, guitar
one rec should be good-the other I’m on the fence about
good essays

hmm…let me think. probably rejected, your stats just don’t hold up. you should have probably taken up a 4th sport, improved your 1460, been the valedictorian, etc.

Wow, you sound a LOT like me (i’m 1/400, but 1460, 780/700/690, similar other stuff). I’d say you have a good but not great or overwhelming shot. Since we have pretty similar credentials, you are probably in the same boat as me. We are in a hazy area where it wouldn’t be surprising to get in or be rejected. Applying ED definitely helps, and everything else definitely puts you in the running. It will probably come down to something in an essay or recommendation that makes you that much more interesting or desirable.

I understand your anxiety, just like the rest of us are feeling right now, but none of us can say with any confidence what ur chances are. Cav is right, it’s ur essays and recs that will tip the scale, just like for most people. Assuming that u are applying this year, it doenst matter anyways, because u cant change anything now. We are all just going to have to be patient and await the Day of Reckoning.
