@monkeydluffy123 Yes - if the school accepts super score - you just send both reports and the school will super score. Many schools are self reporting and you only send the final reports upon acceptance.

The ACT announced several months ago that they will now just send a super score report showing all your scores and highlighting the highest score in each section (not sure if the sample on the ACT website of the report is still there). It will be up to the individual school to either accept the super score or only scores from one sitting. I am unsure if this consolidated report is still happening due to other changes announced and then pulled back on due to Covid - but you should be able to find the info on the ACT site.

Either way, sending 2 reports one with and one without writing is not an issue - if your college superscores.

I’d check with a specific school if it requires the essay. I can’t recall the specifics, but I remember a discussion about a school that required the essay so they wouldn’t even look at scores from a test without the essay. Therefore, those results wouldn’t be superscored.

For a school that doesn’t require the essay, it’s safe to assume they will superscore the two.

You do need to check with the universities to which you are applying. Majority do not superscore ACTs even though many of those do so for the SAT. For those that do superscore and do not require the essay or only recommend rather than require it, the tests will still be superscored. However, those that do superscore and require the essay vary on their practice when you submit one with essay and one without: some will not consider the test without essay, and some will superscore the two tests,
