<p>What many people do not realize is that approximately 12,000 of our sailors and Naval Officers, while on shore duty, are deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan to augment Army and Marine units and joint commands, in a program called Individual Augmentation. A Supply Corps Commander, just this past week, lost his life to a roadside bomb. But since they do not fit dadvet’s definition of warfare, staring directly at the end of a drug dealer’s handgun, and only face roadside bombs and mortar attacks, I suppose they don’t count. The remainder of us, the well informed, are praying for them and their families. The ignorant are making up forum posts about them playing computer games and riding in pressurized tubes. Kav, I too find it difficult to understand how someone with a daughter at USNA could continue to be so ill informed.</p>
