18 year old just diagnosed with MS; what questions should we ask?

Hey! It’s so nice to read good news. Nephew showed great resiliency. Good for him.

@scoutsmom just found this thread so was able to read the entire saga with such a happy conclusion ! Wow . Reasons for celebration in your family this weekend! Thanks for sharing

So relieved for your family!!! Hugs and celebrations!

When my son was about 8, he developed severe facial tics and other neurological symptoms. A battery of tests showed nothing definitive, and they were throwing around some bad diagnoses. Then one day the pediatrician told us to come in for a throat culture. Turned out he had strep. No sore throat, but the bacteria was attacking his brain. Normal course of antibiotics cleared it up, no further problems. Never accept a vague or “possible” diagnosis without further consults leading to something definite.

Great news! What a crazy roller coaster for your nephew and his family. Very glad to hear he’s doing much better and that the initial diagnosis was incorrect.

This is wonderful news and congrats to the young man on his fabulous grades. Your sister and your nephew are lucky to have you in their corner. Now go enjoy the long weekend.
