1975 vs 2006

Even though I have a kid going off to college in the fall, in 1975, I was only 6 years old. That’s what happens when you’re a teenage mom.

Holy cow, irishmom! I graduated college in '75!!

1975: Dating the cute bartender (drinking age 18…)
2006: Refusing to pay for course for son to become a cute bartender…at 18.

1975: Standing in line for Rolling Stones tickets
2006: Going online for Rolling Stones tickets

1975: graduating high school, figuring college was a breeze!
2007: figuring how the hell the kid found a major more selective than med school…

On seeing drummer-looking guy:

1986: Get my number.
2006: Get a haircut.

What else the class of 2011 has never seen: rotary dial phones.

I’m college aged, but I can identify more with the older folk’s 2006 sentiments than the 1975 ones.

I graduated college in 1973 and was just speaking to one of my son’s friends who just graduated last weekend. He was telling me of a trip he is taking to SE Asia and was especially looking forward to seeing Vietnam. I told him how interesting…when I was graduating college I was doing everything possible to not visit Vietnam.

1978: cute little teenie weenie bikini - less is best…oh and baby oil
2007: one piece with long skirt - and a coverup…and a large hat

1978: Jeans, t-shirts, Nike sneakers
2007: Jeans, t-shirts, Nike sneakers

Hopefully you can open the link. It is entitled “Nine reasons why 2007 is the new 1974”.

I’m class of '11, and we owned a rotary dial phone when I was younger. I suppose India’s way behind the US in technology, though. Rotary dial phones are so much fun.

“Location: Why, do you want to stalk me?”

If you are worth stalking then why not? ;)

She used to wear 36-C, now a 36-long.
