This is not necessarily true. US Top 20’s are holistic, McGill is not. At McGill if you do not have the stats you are denied. US schools will look at other factors.

Yes, if a student not meet the “formulaic admissions” of McGill based on grades and tests (optional), they are very unlikely to be at the right level for a US top 20.
That’s great. I hope you get what you want. Kind of further proves the point I made to @TomSrOfBoston. You can be qualified for McGill and still be challenged at our top schools.
