Unless you know a lot more about what happened than is posted here or on the report, I can’t fathom how you could come to that conclusion… “here is my chance to get some recognition, too” I for one would like to think there aren’t many Mids running around that think like that…

As far as the “news” goes…

Can’t argue with that Luigi; well at least the first part. I’ve never met the man so I can’t comment on the second part of your assessment.

Once again should we draw any conclusions from how events like this are framed as they “inform us” of the news… ?

Could you write about such an event while reminding the readers that events such as these are indeed the exception rather than the rule?

Could he have framed this event by saying “The assault was one of a string of episodes that have brought the academy bruising exposure in recent years. While scores of academy graduates serve this country with distinction and include some who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to this great country, events such as this remind us that even our best and brightest can make mistakes”.

This one actually cracks me up, while I recognize the news coverage that event triggered was unfortunate, I don’t think there are too many adults on this planet that haven’t experienced some aspect of spring break during their college years that didn’t involve drinking and “raucous behavior”…how could you have a spring break without them?
