i applied to chapman undecided and i got accepted.
i have been thinking about majoring in graphic design.
anyone else majoring in graphic design here, too?

i don’t know if i am attending chapman, though.
i might have to go to cal state long beach, but i don’t like commuter schools.
D:

I got in for the film program.

I never got an e-mail from Chapman just the package and approved online.

"Provost scholarship "

Is that academic, if so I don’t think I’ll be receiving one… so how about those talent scholarships…

provost scholarship is one step above deans, i got deans which is about $12,000 so i think provost is in the mid-upper teens? i have no idea when we hear about talent scholarships… anyone going to the scholars reception in late april?

I got provost and it is $15,000 a year. Are you saying it is possible to get a talent scholarship on top of that?

ya i think so… but i don’t know when we hear about that…
are you going to the scholars reception?

I wish but I’m all the way in florida and its too much money to fly out for one event on top of the fact it is on my prom night and I don’t want to miss that.

haha ya i don’t blame you, have fun at prom :]
maybe i’ll see you at one of the other orientations or something :]

film students: did any of you have to do a phone interview? i was looking through previous posts and it looks like getting into the film program was a lot more complicated before… there were film finalists… and then some had phone interviews… i haven’t had to do any of that… i just got in… i hope i’m not missing anything haha… anyone have to go through any of that?

WOOHOOOOOOOO

i got a 34,000 financial aid package

i only have 9,000 total in loans…

so is a $25,000 good?

Hey lucky, I’m in Florida too.

Scarlett: No, I didn’t have any phone interview and most people have been saying they didn’t either.

koolguy: Lucky you. So, far I have no scholarships and only $17,550 of my financial aid is not a loan.

** So, how about those talent scholarships**

i know i’m curious about those too… hopefully they’ll mention them at the scholars reception or something…

Has everyone here sent in their deposit commitment/housing app in yet? I want to but I’m still waiting on my appeal from USC, and I dunno I guess I’m just “emotionally” lol not ready to make it that final, but I’m worried I’m going to get last dibs on housing… do you think that’s the case or do they just start reviewing everything after the deadline?

With the whole housing deposit…as long as you turn it in by the deadline, you’re good. They don’t do the first come, first serve type thing. They just review everyone’s housing apps. at the same time.

Oh yeah, I got into Chapman, yaya! haha.
I actually found out last month. Chapman was my first choice, so I’m really excited to start in the fall. lol I actually visited the campus last monday, the first day the students all came back from spring break. The campus was absolutely gorgeous, I loved it. lol And the students there were pretty mellow, so I dont think you’d have to worry about them being snobby or w.e. lol.

But we all went on the group tour, and the girl leading us was one of the seniors there, and she was really sweet. She really seemed to love the school by the way she was talking about it. It just made everyone even more excited about the school. Oh yeah, she told us a lot of stories about the school, and how a lot of movie directors would go there to film. One of the memorable ones she said was when they filmed the movie Accepted in the front of the school, where all the grass is…and the guy is dressed in a hot dog suit. haha. [Hot Dog Guy](http://www.thecinemasource.com/moviesdb/images/Accepted%20-%206%20-%20Jonah_Hill.jpg) You can tell that the sign on the doors is the Chapman sign, but the school was called Harmon University. But yeah, I think its pretty awesome. lol

Anyway…wow…that was a loong post. haha. That’s just my two cents. lol. I’ll see you guys in the fall…peace! lol.

kfrizzle where in florida? I’m about 30 minutes north of orlando.

YAY finally someone who is really excited about Chapman! I want to take a tour too so I can be excited lol How’d you get a tour? Did you call the school or email them?

volcom_grl07 what are you majoring in?

I applied as Undecided, but I think I might major in something in science, like biology or something…I dunno yet. lol.

And I called the school to schedule a tour with them for admitted students called the Host Program. Its where they actually let you attend a class for 50 minutes. And we were in a Intro. to Chemistry class. The classroom was really nice, and the size of the class was like around 25 students or so…but I really liked it because its not too crowded, and you have more interaction with the other students in a small class. Also, they had outlets on each table where you sit, if you wanna bring in your laptops if you want…which is cool. The professor was really cool also…and really funny. Then after the class, you go on the group tour with your parents if you want. And let me tell you…there were sooo many kids that were on the tour…and they were different kids that came just for the campus tour. Its surprises me where all these kids came from just to see the school, because everyone had to say their name, where they come from, and what major they might be interested in…lol…but really, they were from all over the country. I’m not sure if they were all admitted students or not. But anyway, I reallly fell in love with the school after the tour was over. lol. I hope that helped in any way. lol.

did you visit housing as well? what was your favorite hall? I’m favoring Henley cause i hear it’s the most popular with freshman, and then Glass second because it’s the newest.

Oh, please tell more. Our S really wants to go there and we can’t make any trips out to the west coast, ever, before he’d actually show up for orientation.

He was accepted into the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. It was very hard to get in! Did you happen to see inside the film school? Were people working away? Tell all…it really helps to hear about it.

Hi paying3tuitions I was accepted into the film school for film production :]
yes actually this year the film school and the school in general got a lot more competitive, and while it may not be really well known throughout the nation, it is certainly well known in socal and especially with the film industry, i know a producer who’s friend John Badham (directed Saturday Night Fever) teaches at Chapman, teachers who originally taught at USC and AFI now teach at Chapman as well, so the staff is really great. I got to see the inside of the film school for the Dodge Reception, and it is absolutely beautiful, brand new, and state of the art. Basically you could film an entire movie, and not just film it but develop the film, edit it, everything in that building alone. I also hear that another large donation has been made to the film school and right across the street they are going to build “Filmmakers Village” where they are going to have a number of soundstages for actual hollywood productions. The day I went they were also in the process of putting on this student run tv station, and it was all very professional looking
