Are you serious? I thought they came in late December? Now someone says just the fifteenth? Honestly, that’s…fast.

Huh. I await and will eventually share my scores.

Results 1 - 10 of about 40,000,000 for “for an explanation of”. (0.20 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 9,360,000 for “for an explanation for”. (0.17 seconds)

^ What’s your point?

Results 1 - 10 of about 7,030,000 for “comprised of”. (0.21 seconds)

This doesn’t mean it’s grammatically sound.

I’m just saying that trying to prove “for an explanation for” is better grammatically than “for an explanation of” and also proving that “for an explanation of” is not grammatically correct is impossible considering “for an explanation of” is used more commonly than “for an explanation for”.

I’m not saying “explanation of” is always wrong; I’m saying it doesn’t indicate a reason for something.

There are plenty of times when “explanation of” is the better chocie.

So, should we expect that all schools have the PSAT scores now (or on Monday)? Is it possible that some schools will not have them yet? This is the oddest method of score delivery I have seen.

I’m sorry if I was confusing. What I meant was you guys got unlucky because there was a really contentious question that could arguably be Collegeboard’s mistake. Nonetheless, it counts against your guys’ scores. Actually, I used the wrong expression there haha. I meant to say you guys got unlucky because that question was there. Anyways, I wish you the best of luck with your appeal silverturtle. And why would you lose $10 if you are wrong? Do you need to pay CB $10 to look at your case?

Will be getting my score back in my 3rd period class. keeping fingers crossed

Good luck RoE… what score are you aiming for?

“And why would you lose $10 if you are wrong? Do you need to pay CB $10 to look at your case?”

Yes. It’s understandable, though; if there weren’t a charge, there would be no disincentive against those who want to challenge everything.

I’d be surprised if every high school had them by now. Usually, they don’t arrive until later into December.

Our son’'s academic advisor told us they come in the first week of December each year. It differs by state.

I’m a bit confused on whether I’ll be recieving my PSAT first or if my school will. I took the PSAT at a local high school that I do not attend since I go to an online school. My school code is on there and everything (though I didn’t know the exact address), but they also told people who are taking it at a different school to put their home address on there. I emailed my guidance counselor but she was no help at all. Does anyone know who will be getting the scores?

I think your PSAT gets sent to the school you attend (not where you took it) regardless.

yeah my school’s psats came in last week, but they’re not passing them out until later this week. i only got a glimpse of my scores so idk how many i got wrong for the curve

Did you happen to get a glimpse of your Writing score?

^ yeah: math-75, writing-78, cr-72

btw i had form W

Historical Writing curves (raw score followed by average and range since 2004):

Writing

39 80 80-80
38 77 75-80
37 74 72-78
36 72 70-75
35 70 68-73
34 68 66-71

It’s hard to believe that the -2 curve (reported by someone to be 73) would be below average if the -1 curve is above average. My appeal may be worth five points!

Okay, I missed my goal :(. I probably didn’t have a chance anyway.
Right now, I’m looking through my test booklet - bubbled in 4 answers incorrectly – ugh…

I’m kinda surprised that CB classified the “explanation of/explanation for” question as easy.
