I just got an acceptance email from Wash U DBBS about 5 minutes ago. Which I suppose is a good thing since I’m waitlisted at Cornell and apparently not getting Harvard.

Congrats!

@Caulobacter

The Graduate Division has a March 15th deadline. I emailed the Admissions Co-ord for DBBS, she said around March 12th. WashU is my top school, I interviewed late Jan and its been a month now. I hate waiting!!! :(

@ROI2016

thanks and my condolences… if I havent heard from them by now… I think its pretty much a goner too… will do wad u said

@joshheng
Did you apply to micro programs? If so, where to and if you have heard back from any school?

@Hummeri7582

a little inside info on mcb - someone told me they’ve sent out some offers to their ‘definitelies’ (and possibly also some rejections, not sure) and are waiting to hear back on funding from the grad school for a bunch of people they haven’t sent word to yet. so you might still hear back positively from them, but in any case, congrats on WU!

I thought the UPENN BGS program was awesome. I interviewed with CAMB-GGR. The thing that impressed me most was the flexibility and access to almost anyone on campus. I did not get those kind of feelings from places like UChicago or Columbia. UCSD on the other hand, now that places is awesome. Im deciding between there and Penn but I have no idea how to make a decision

So one place asked me for a phone interview. What does this mean?
Are they trying to figure out whether or not to invite me to a recruitment visit or is the phone interview just to clear up some things before formally accepting me.
Also what kind of questions should I expect?
Thanks

miRNAman-- IMO, I loved the U Penn CAMB program as it gives you so much flexibility and the fact that all their world-class schools are on one campus gives you access to unlimited resources and networking with experts in other fields. The only other place I felt like that was at Northwestern!! Good luck on your decision!

@caulobacter

I haven’t heard back from Wash U either. It’s my top choice, so I’m really concerned. (I interviewed February 11-13th.)

Influenza: Which graduate coordinator did you email? Did it sound like March 12th for all the departments, or just the one you applied to?

@safetypin00

How did you receive the rejection from Yale, and what BBS program did you apply to?

has anyone who interviewed at U. Chicago biological sciences feb 18-20 heard back about decisions yet?

anyone going to columbia microbio immuno?

Does anybody have an idea how far down Baylor goes on their alternate list (molecular virology/microbiology)?
Anyone is giving up their offer?
hahaha, if so, do it, quick!!! :)

I think it’s time to give an update on my situation.

I interviewed with the Microbio program.

I emailed Jennifer Dix who is the Admissions Co-ordinator. She said I’ll hear back around March 12th (not sure if this date applies to everyone though)

The March 15th deadline was mentioned by my program’s co-ordinator.

The Graduate Division as a whole, passes final decisions on those who were not accepted soon after their interviews, but are neither rejected until now. They are unable to say yes immediately to some of us, due to funding allocation issues across the Division.

I’m hoping we are on that list!

Cheers! :D

@biochemer: email link to website (the website you used to apply). I applied to MCDG or whatever, with Neuroscience second choice.

@safetypin00

Thanks for the info. I know that several people have been rejected from MCGD, but I still haven’t heard anything. I wonder if that means there’s still hope? Hmmm.

And congratulations! I’m really excited that you got into Princeton!
