**2011 APUSH Official Post-Test**

Hey you guys, i made a little mistake on the DBQ and on one of the two FRQ’s. Will they penalize me harshly?

@killer2021
Nah son. I read the text book like 3 times this year. Used Sparknotes or Wikipedia like 4 or 5 times and still will prob get an A for the year unless I somehow tank this quarter.

I studied the night before for like 3 hours, and I’m pretty sure I got a 5, and if not then a pretty damn high 4.

Last year, I didn’t open my AP Euro text book once except for the first day of school when I read half a page and realized how boring it was. First time I studied all year was the night before the test, and I still managed to pull a 4 (though in that class I got my first B+ ever because I was a point away from an A for the year but that teacher won’t round up ever).

Sooo… what you said is wrong.

I’m not sure what his goal is with posting that, to be honest. People who don’t take AP US have to take it in college anyways, so it’s not like anybody has made it worse for themselves by taking APUSH, winging it, and not earning any credit.

on my dbq i put nixon vs usa instead of usa vs nixon as the court case haha ■■■

The first day of every school year, our APUSH teacher comes in and tells the class “we will finish.” The College Board TELLS us that very few questions from post 1980 will be on the test, so sure enough we covered up to the 1980 election, and our assignment to skim over the last few chapters was due last Monday. The DBQ could not have been any better for us- it was basically “analyze everything you’ve learned in the last three weeks.”

I did a paragraph on foreign affairs, so basically Vietnam with some detente thrown in for good measure, a paragraph on domestic strife, with the energy crisis, race riots, and student discord, and a paragraph on “internal corruption,” so Watergate.

The AP Pass calculator shows that 60 on the multiple choice and three 5s on the free response is a five… it seems like it should be harder than that?

Well, you essentially need a 67% for a 5. So as long as you don’t get a total raw score that warrants an F, you get the 5. :)

Woah, that’s crazy! Is there a possibility of this changing with the curve?

The scores required are published freely on CB’s website… why do people constantly doubt the scores???

And @skilleddd
lol, you’re fine, that will hardly matter.

I neeed to get my score back already. When do they come? and do we ever see our free response essays?

@nondairy: Scores are mailed in mid-late July. Once they are first available, you can get them by phone for $7 or $8.

You can order your FRQ booklets back, but they aren’t graded/corrected… it’ll be just like it was when you turned it in at the end of the exam. I don’t remember how much it costs, but it’s in your AP Student Pack.

48 hours are up! Here’s what I thought.

MC - Probably somewhere in the 60-65 range. The MC is always my strong point, but this one was harder than the practice tests where I was getting consistent 70’s. Either way, I’m fine with how I did.

DBQ - AHHHHHHHHHH we never went past WWII. I wrote two pages about how corrupt Nixon was and how he went back on his promise of peace in Vietnam. I basically formed it around the documents more than usual because I couldn’t remember much outside information. Probably a 6-7.

FRQ 1 - This one was hard. I did the political parties from 1790-1840 or whatever it was. Talked about how parties sectionalized america/drove the nation apart (but I totally forgot about the Era of Good Feelings). Talked about the Bank War as a major example, but not much substance. Probably a 6.

FRQ 2 - YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. LOVED LOVED LOVED this question!!! I did the compare/contrast on immigration. Compared KKK/general discrimination and job discrimination. Contrasted with quotas, palmer raids, red scare, and I got to use the Sacco and Vanzetti case! My thesis was something about how the 1910s and 20s saw a harsher response to immigrants than the 1910s. I know I got a nine here!!! LOVED IT!

Ok Multiple choice was SOOOOOO easy probably fot 65-70 correct…
DBQ: When I first looked at it I had a heart attack but then looking at the docs helped hint me to some key info. I talked about Nixon leaving Vietnam and that he wanted “peace with honor”. For energy crisis I talked about the 1973 Oil Embargo against the U.S. and how Nixon planed to deal with it according to whichever doc. For the economy I used the chart and talked about stagflation and, of course, I talked about Watergate, which was my longest paragraph.
FRQ: Definitly my biggest **** up. I did 2 and 5 but had to BS them. For 2 I talked about how becuase of primageneture in england 2nd born came to U.S. to work but many died off before getting land, talked about ecomienda system for NA and then the chattel slavery for when they brought over Africans in Triangular Trade. For #5 I talked about Marcus Garvey for going back to africa and seperating themselves while for the second era they wanted to remain in America and gain their rights while still Americans and some used violent strategies like Malcolm X and some chose non violence like MLK. Based on this I think I got a 5. From what i said how do you think I did on the essays based on the info I put in. Thanks!

yessssssssssssssssss

Okay so I felt super confident on the DBQ until I realized that I mentioned quite a few times the Civil Rights Act of 1974!! I don’t know what I was thinking! I think I just got caught up in writing and failed to realize I was a decade off! How much do you think this will effect my score?? ■■■.

yes it was 1973 becuase we wouldnt sell weapns to Iran

The Multiple choice was moderate.

The DBQ and FRQs were cake. I think I passed!

The AP Euro Exam was awful, though.

@calmth, The embargo was because of tampering with Middle Eastern affairs in Israel, not because of the Iran-Contra affair under Reagan. Is anyone else with me?

I’m a good writer so I think that’ll help

the 1973 oil crisis didn’t have ANYTHING to do with Iran.

From wikipedia: The 1973 oil crisis started in October 1973, when the members of Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries or the OAPEC (consisting of the Arab members of OPEC, plus Egypt, Syria and Tunisia) proclaimed an oil embargo. This was “in response to the U.S. decision to re-supply the Israeli military” during the Yom Kippur war.

Bam- I wrote 3 pages about this  AYYE

so guys, whats the difference between form R and form Q. I think theres a variation in some of the multiple choice questions. I had form R and had a question that said, in which country has the US been in since the 1950s? I got it wrong…lol, but i dont think people from form Q had this question. Is that true ?
