Also, did anybody else have the passage about the scientists playing 20 questions?

See the use of the word skimpy to contrast the huge pile that “thumped” on the table conveys a difference in magnitude, paralleling the increase in writing that the granddaughter is doing. As I said with conscientious, the floral design choice is way too superficial for an analytical passage.

Yeah why not? She explicitly mentioned before the floral design of the paper. Then she said it cramped her style, which is an expression meaning she didn’t like it. So she got normal 11 by 8 1/2 paper.

This CR was just deadly…so many ambiguous answers as you guys can tell from reading this thread

This is where it gets confusing… because sh obviously hated the stationary from the get go when she saw the ink leaking through in the beginning, but it’s not because of the flowers… It’s because she needed to write more and the stationary not only had less space but one could not write on the back because the ink leaked through… I will just die if I’m wrong on this one because I think I’ve come up with some pretty good points

Did anyone get pessimistic against somewhat optimistic for the environmental comparison passages.

yeah ^^ we discussed this already. The first one was deadset on ecotourists being deadly, while the second one was optimistic about the effects that tourist education could have on the reduction of environmental impact.

Yeah the answer was passage one is generally pessimistic about an idea that passage 2 generally supports or something along those lines.

was the scientist 20 question experimetal? please say yes

Was the question on the bad effect of mercury that it can poison our food supply?

One answer was hurt marine life, but it was more specifically leading towards the food we eat…idk.

The question about the granddaughter and the notecard has to be the size of the notecard, then why in the world would it state specific dimensions

Mastermind,
I had the scientist 20 question experimental as well, don’t worry.

So an 11/12 essay and like 1/2 wrong would be a what? 800 possibly?

Essay counts for writing not reading.

Hammer,
In general, I know the multiple choice are weighed much more than the essay. I think if you get 2 wrong, your score drops to at least a 780. But this is for the writing section

I read the compilation, but were all of these wrong…?
8 by 11=didnt like the design
self satisfied
it was a privilege (i think others put business trans)
for grandma’s pause: i put the only positive one = satisfaction maybe???
for courier vocab= i put the one with accomplishments

what would a -5, -6, or -7 raw score equate to?

-7 raw score is around 700.

From the consensus of this thread…

Self satisfied is right.
Business transaction is right (But i still think it’s a favor because she complains about doing it later)
Resignation, not satisfaction
And Courier I’m not sure

lol thought this was the writing my bad

remind me about the last two that you have questions about, I don’t remember the options. I still say she hated the dimensions of the paper, it was very much implied by the vocab and diction of the passage; many tried to be too superficial with this passage. I put it was like a business transaction. She specifically said she was “commissioned” and another businesslike phrase near the end of the intro.

self satisfied is debatable
-5 750
-6 740
-7 710
this is an average curve
Good Curve
-5 770
-6 750
-7 720
