@interficio, completely agree with you.
for the goats irony one, i said that it mocked the whole media fuss about his age, but blahh there are so many that i was unsure of. ■■■.

^^
It actually did say that in the introductory blurb. It said she was “a published writer.”

@Inteficio – The answer was that it was ironic, because he knew the goat’s age exactly, yet not his own.

@buckeyes:
that wasn’t a choice?

was the one about the “mocked/made fun of the whole media fuss about his age” thing a different question!?

okay, that’s what I picked, the option just said it in a slightly more convoluted way if i recall correctly. The CR questions were much more convoluted than I expected. I common theme is that there were two similar answers that appeared correct, but the more reflective one was usually correct over the superficial external one, especially as a lot of the passages focused on obscure/ internal occurrences (pain, recreating memories about the house, developing as a writer)

I remember the answer just being that it was ironic, or something like that. I added the explanation.

Or am I forgetting something? What were the options on that one besides mocking the fuss about his age?

ah, okay
i’m crossing my fingers and hoping that i picked that one.

i don’t remember any other options… :

the october CR had it share of annoying readings with trojan war one and critic one, but the readings in october were no where near as bad as the baseball one and the tribulations one. g ma one was kind of like trojan war one (8/10 questions easy but 2 have two almost equally good best answers).

was the section with the short passage about mercury and tuna and sushi experimental?

I assume so. I didn’t have it

Should I be dissalutionized by this first SAT test I took, or was it simply the hardest that there has been?

God this test was brutal. I thought CR was way harder than in the official study guide. How many points do you think -8 is? 700 maybe?

this CR, to everyone but me apparently, was very hard. A lot of the questions had convoluted options and most of my answers were chosen based on semantics and connotations rather than a boatload of concrete specifics. This was my first SAT, too. Let’s both feel proud of ourselves!

“Should I be dissalutionized by this first SAT test I took, or was it simply the hardest that there has been?”

Personally, I thought it was pretty easy all-around. Then again, I enjoy English and reading passages and I have a lot of experience with passage-based questions. I think a lot of practice makes perfect, so you should take a lot of practice CR exams prior to your next SAT and you’ll find it a lot easier.

@interficio
How smart are you? What is your calculated test score? What you want at least.

@ineedmagenta
Thanks, and how do you study for vocab? Like do you just read books or like study vocabulary? Both?

I want over 2000. My eventual ideal is 2250. I might get it this time but I will begrudgingly have to take it again because my math score will probably be in low 600’s and possible 150 points less than both of my other sections. I’m really good at languages/literature, not at math. I’m pretty smart in that I have a lot of random crystallized knowledge of vocab/semantics, etc. The math is my biggest killer tho.

grivacobae, latin/greek helped me with vocab as well as an online resource my school has. You can find lists of SAT words online for future reference I think

I’m completely the opposite, since my second language is English I har a hard time with CR especially writing so I’ll probably get like low 600 on both, maybe in the high 500, but in math, I love math, the universal language :), I only think I got one wrong, and one that I forgot to come back to so I’ll probably get like a 750? So my total score will be like 1900, not great at all especially since I want to become an Investmet Banker my dream job.

Yea I got this app on my iPod that surprisingly helped a lot, I knew like have the words on re SAT but other have no, but if I distance review with my iPod I would of only known 1/4 of the words, I’m gonna start reading a lot again
