<p>I faced a similar decision, and I basically realized that even in 5 years, the war will still be there, or we’ll be gearing up for a new one. Otherwise I would probably deploy sometime in the latter half of this year. When I first met the admissions officer, he told me he has had guys turn down admission, or withdraw to go deploy with their units. It’s a difficult thing to do, but an admirable decision.</p>
<p>The main thing you have in the military is the person next to you, and leaving them, especially in a trying time like these is a difficult decision.</p>
