2011 UCLA Transfers: The Central Thread for Discussion and Decisions

@naniwa: do you see your major on MyUcla?

@ella same here. I love UCBerk but I just feel I would get home sick.

got the email. no call though.

Still can’t log onto myucla and no call/email

Slowly but surely losing hope…:(

How did you guys enroll in summer session through URSA?

@berkeley, no, I can’t even login to myucla :(

anyone else get the email but no phone call?

To people who got emails or call: is your gpa all over 3.75?

hey guys just got the phone call and email from ucla
psych major
3.81
all pre req completed at the end of fall
igetc certified end of fall
TAP certified end of this semester but already did the paper work for it

Same. Cal is just a little far. But I’m a hippie at heart so who knows. Also, did anyone notice any biz Econ or comm majors with like 3.75’s? If so they might have emailed everyone eligible regardless of acceptance. But so far you guys all have High GPAs in not crazy impacted majors, so it’d take that as a good sign.

I just got the email.

GPA is ~3.94

I got an email for UCLA Alumni Scholarships,no call
but I still cant see anything on ursa finical aid.
I already lost my hope, but then they send me this email to confuse me:(…
still no design major around??

Is it cause I don’t Really have any extracurriculars? :(

^ could be. the email states i showed leadership in community service and such…

Wording of these emails are so deceiving =/

"The UCLA Alumni Association offers merit-based scholarships in the amount of $4,000 to entering UCLA transfer students just like you. "

btw my GPA is around 3.98

Is this the email you guys are talking about?

“Apply Now for UCLA Alumni Association Community College Transfer Scholarship”

What does it mean? I this a blanket email sent to transfer students, because I didn’t really have any extracurriculars or community service on my application. Or is it sent by people who have reviewed apps and sent to merit worthy applicants. Hence, a very good sign of admission.

BTW it does say this at the bottom: “This is an announcement of the UCLA Alumni Scholarship opportunities and is not a notification of admission. Admission decisions will be sent directly from the UCLA Admissions Office. The UCLA Alumni Association maintains its own schedule and assumes no responsibility for the timing, policies or decisions of UCLA Undergraduate Admissions and Relations with Schools.”

Pol Sci. 4.0. so yeah, over 3.75

just received the scholarship email

gpa- 3.95

it’s just a scholarship email/call. not indicative of acceptance. I received the same one for Berkeley.

yeah, I wouldn’t take the email as meaning anything of admission. all we can really do is wait for the official decision at this point unless people start seeing an option to SIR on ursa. that’s really it; all this stuff about scholarships and major showing up or not on myucla really don’t mean anything imo…
