Yessssss!!! got in!!
…although it was a bit anti-climactic after all those speculative “signs” :D

Anyways, here goes the ususal, the stats (that got me in)

CCC Transfer

Applied to: UCB, UCLA, UCSD, CSULB

Accepted to: UCLA, UCSD, CSULB

Rejected so far: none

Major: - Electrical Engineering (EECS at Berkeley)

GPA: - 3.85 - UC transferable / 3.87 - overall

Major GPA (UCLA-specific): 3.79

Pre-requisites - ALL completed by spring '11 (all but one completed by fall '10)
*also taking 2 “recommended” computer science courses this semester.

TAP & IGETC - NO (not applicable for engineering majors)

Personal Statements - pretty strong - detailed how interest in major developed and described how, as an older returning student, I overcame obstacles and hardships.

ECs - weak (only been a Math Tutor and a Math T.A. for a year)

Work & related responsibility - 40+ hours/week throughout community college attendance and have had significant family and other responsibilities, in addition to school (described these in my PS).

Other unique factors that hurt me: Got a “C” in a major pre-req (and a VERY important one at that - Physics - Electricity and Magnetism)

Other factors that may have helped a lot: have completed 21 courses with an “A”, and only one B and one C; older, student returning after a substantial break from high school;

Congratulations to everyone that got in!! …and for those that did not, there’s still the appeals process (and Berkeley decisions are not out yet)
