@buranka

I haven’t gotten anything from Irvine either, or Berkeley and I found out both of those same day. Then again, my mailman hates me and probably gave them to my neighbors.

Just waitlisted :’( omgg 53 days left till july 1 wahh

So to satisfy your ego you are taking a wait list spot away from someone who actually wants in? wow u r rele kewl.

@Ellada What is your gpa if you dont mind me asking? Also, we could hear as soon as June first which is only 22 days away :)

@Nitole omg i hope so but not to get my hopes up im considering the last day haha. I have a 3.17 as a mathematics/economics major. All igetc classes r complete along ith 5/7 lower divisions. What about you?

@unidentifiable

That’s how life works. People are motivated by their egos. That’s how college admissions works. People apply to and are accepted to schools they don’t intend to attend, and ultimately don’t attend. The only way to get past that is to have high enough stats to be admitted, or to guarantee admission.

You can’t expect people to give up their spots for someone unless they share some kinship with them. Very few people are willing to give up something they want for a complete stranger, even if they’re not sure that they really want it. All someone can do is (at least) meet or (ideally) exceed the average stats of admitted students for the school/major they’re applying to.

If someone can’t do that, then tough luck - they gotta deal with it. No one should blame their failure to be admitted on individuals who ALSO just want to be admitted to their dream school.

@asphyxiac lmfaoo if it was their dream school they wouldn’t just apply for “shizz and giggles” rotfl way to defend someone lol

@Ellada I have a 3.47 for Bioengineering with IGETC complete. I have less than half of my pre-reqs done however.

@nitole I’m sure your in.

@Ellada94

Laugh all you want, whatever.

I know that UCSD was/is Acoustic’s dream school. She’s been talking about UCSD for over a year now - just check the archives. She is almost within the GPA range for admitted students, and has worked really hard these past two semesters. I still hope she gets in, even if she chooses not to attend (though it would be nice to have her at the same school as me)!

@Ellada I hope you’re right! lol I’ve been following these forums and there are people with 3.6x’s and one dude with a 3.9 who were all waitlisted. Makes me nervous!

Are there a lot of 3.6’s and +? I’m at a 3.3 and I’m pretty damn nervous

@ asphyxiac well best of luck to her i just think whoever really wants to go to SD deserves to have a spot.

@ nitole i no im sooo nervouse…wahhh

@ellada

A lot of people applied to colleges just for the hell of it. I did, although I knew that I wouldn’t even go.
Why? Because it boosts self-esteem.
Getting accepted feels good and definitely makes us more confident.
Even if acoustickitty decides not to go to UCSD, she shouldn’t have to give up her spot so somebody else can have it. We live in a capitalist society where competition is encouraged.
If she is more eligible than her competitors, then she deserves it more.

Goodluck acoustickitty! I applaud your persistence.

I’ve seen one person with a 3.9, 2 in the 3.6x range, about 2 or 3 in the 3.5x range and a few(3-4) in the 3.4x range with me. I’m hoping some of the higher people have the decency to not opt into the waitlist if they were accepted to better schools which they will be attending. I’ve seen a lot of people who were accepted to UCLA but waitlisted at UCSD but I dont know their GPA. It sounded like most of them were just gonna go to UCLA anyway. So I really have no idea what to think of my position on this list. lol

Good luck to you all, wish I could give up my spot for one of you guys.

^ thanks :slight_smile: Where are you going?

Thank you guys for understanding. I appreciate it. UCSD was my dream school for an entire year and my mind changed after being waitlisted. I waitlisted to UCSD, just for “shiz and giggles” and I will take someone elses spot who really wants it just as I did in the past. Who knows, maybe I’ll change my mind and SIR at UCSD if I get accepted off the waitlist.

So cry me a river and maybe drown in it because someone who REALLY wants your waitlist spot might need it more than you, identifiable. Xoxo

@Ellada94: You shouldn’t even go to UCSD if you don’t know the difference between your and you’re. Learn.

@acoustickitty123 this isnt some professional site for me to blast out my english skills. And relax i wish u the best but it would have been really effed up if u just waitlisted for the heck of it.
