** 2012 UCSD Transfer Decisions Thread **

What college are you in?

I’m sure he got the good one.

@integraballer

I’m in sixth college econ major.

planning for what classes I want to take is alot harder than I thought it would be…

so does anyone know if you cannot take two classes if their finals occur in the EXACT time period, despite no other time conflicts??

You’ll probably be able to sign up for classes that have finals at the same time, but the professors are in no way obligated to accommodate you in a different time to take the final. You’ll have to ask both professors the first week if it is possible for one of them to move the final for you. If not you’ll have to drop one of the classes. More often then not, if you don’t take the final you can’t pass the class.

Are we thinking 3 classes 12+ creds is the norm?

@durper yeah. it was stressed during orientation that transfers take 3 courses for their first quarter

@itspat thanks

It’s funny, I’m all packed and ready to move down to san diego from northern CA but I don’t want to move there and then get rescinded (I had some late updates to my app). As soon as the transcripts are validated I’m topping off the car and driving down. We should all be validated this week right?

@durper yeah i’m pretty much ready to go; i just need to pack my clothes and i’m set :slight_smile: but yeah we SHOULD find out our validation this week…hopefully

For those who still are not validated but have Academic History populated, post here if you are able to enroll in classes.

i was able to enroll, despite not being validated (populated degree audit); yet, i did have a hiccup: was not actually able to register 30 minutes after my time. support noted that i had to use iexplore (gross), when i was using opera. my browser crashed after opening a pdf file, and i found that i could register fine after restarting.

^^ my appointment time was 8:40 but it wouldn’t let me register until about 8:50

i was able to enroll. i don’t think that was ever an issue for me. i was more concerned about knowing what classes to take since they have not evaluated most of my transfer credits so i’m not sure if i have to take certain GE’s or not

Finally!!! Thanks for your posts guys! Def. make sure your browser is IE otherwise, it will not work (I was using Google Chrome)! I sat here for 45 mins past mine enrollment time trying to figure out why I couldn’t sign up.

@diamondjim

yeah i feel the same way; i was hesitant on enrolling in some classes despite taking (imo) equivalent courses at my cc. same could be said for math 20e/f, i will try to take the exam and petition for credit. i was also not sure to enroll in a language course, because i knew i would be placed at a higher level that isnt offered this quarter. i was undecided about taking a 4th course, but looking over the mat sci. solutions manual i think im glad i will be able to devote time to the class. all-in-all, im screwed anyways, with the amount of units im expected since im in revelle and mechanical: i better suck it up starting now :]

Your academic history is populated and your degree audit is complete. But you don’t have your transcripts validated yet?

I’m in the same situation. What do you think our chances are of being rescinded? I’m stressing out over this and it’s so ridiculous that UCSD is making us wait so long.

Hey guys, I just called and I’m in the same situation as you all with the degree audit complete and academic history populated and so I decided to call the admissions office today to see what was going on. The lady on the phone told me that since my stuff is populated/complete that “I’m fine.” I feel reassured and yet I’m like why can’t you just go in and tell me I’m fine online. So, call up the admissions office and let me know what they tell you… : )

@blondeucsd

Seriously. Why couldn’t they just put “requirement met” the second they updated our academic history/degree audit. That sounds like a more efficient way to get things done.

I never heard of anyone with a unpopulated academic history/degree audit who got rescinded yet though.

I know, right? I’ve been like sitting here checking my status every day and I have yet to see a change. It’s like don’t they realize we are all sitting on the edge of our seats waiting to be in the clear? It’s super stressful!! Now I’m just trying to figure out what classes to take… which isn’t an easy task either.

I’m doing the same thing. Except I check more than once a day. Lol
I register tomorrow and hopefully I won’t get an error. But it would be such a waste if we enrolled in classes and everything and got rescinded last minute because of this. I already paid the 650 housing deposit too! Validating transcripts should’ve been the first thing on their list!
