2013/2017 Class Lackluster?

Really? Everyone?

At my school is quite the opposite. Juniors are widely known for, not only their general academic excellence, but also for their success in extra curriculars.

Lol I completely agree with dfree124’s post^^
Really? Everyone gets into Cornell and Brown? I hope you get rejected from them just for saying that. Lol. Not really, but seriously? Everyone?

2010- Don’t know enough about them…
2011- average for our school… Best school was probably RPI… Maybe Northeastern (that’s where the val went)
2012- average again… So far I know someone who’s going to American University… Another girl got into Boston University, but I don’t think she’s going…
2013- We may actually get some ivy applicants… I know I’ll be one of them… And I know another kid who plans on applying to MIT… One kid also said he’s applying to NYU and Columbia… Another said she’s applying to HYP. And I’m pretty sure our valedictorian is applying to some ivies too…

We’ll see what happens… I hope some of them get in if I do… Lol. If I get in and they don’t, I’ll have to deal with so much ‘you only got in because you’re hispanic’ BS…

2014: I heard they’re okay, a little bit above average…
2015: I heard they’re one of the worst classes we’ve had in a long time… O.o

Lol. I said everyone cause everyone who applied does (from our school) we have like a special relationship…it came out so wrong tho. lol

You hope I dont get in? tf who says stupid ish like that?
I’m not even applying to those anyway…Ivy is not my thing. I’ll save that for people who waste their lives to get into those.

Funny thing, I was just thinking about this the other day…I tried to tell my friend that the junior class (at my school) was not as great as the sophomore class, and that I was glad that I was in the class of 2014. She said she’d rather be a junior than a sophomore. (I don’t think she knew what I was talking about.)

Anyway,

2011 - Great. Seriously stellar all around. (I might be biased though because last year I was an earnest freshie looking up to my elders.)

2012 - There were a few really cool seniors this year, but overall, not as good as the class of 2011. Far from it, actually. But still, the few people who are amazing make the rest look not too shabby.

2013 - “Lackluster” is a great description. “Disappointing” also works.

2014 - Super competitive, lots of cool personalities. We are actually an interesting group of people, which makes me optimistic for the future of mankind. (Again, I may be biased ;))

2015 - Similar to this year’s senior class, but not as good as the sophomores and not as “meh” as the juniors.

Hm… I suppose my school is the complete opposite. :P

Our current seniors (2012) are okay. Compared to previous years, a lot more are going to college out of state.

My class (2013), at least at my school, is the driving force. We are very competitive, esp. with the other grades. We won Spirit Week (first time the Senior class didn’t win) and we won a few other things. Nearly all the varsity athletes are in my grade, the best speech and debaters at the school are part of 2013, and so are the performing arts crowd. Out of the 100 kids, at least 40 are ridiculously smart/hardworking/ambitious. 40 don’t give a care in the world, and 20 are just average.

Personality wise, I have more friends in the grade above and below 2013… but if we’re talking about achievements, 2013 is the class to be at my school. :P

At my school, my class has literally been the smartest to come through the school. As far as standardized tests are concerned, we have overperformed in every disciple and have exceeded our schools average SAT score already, raising it from 450 per section to 510 per section. That’s a really big jump for a town in the socio-economic state we’re in. Our teachers tell us that we are the most competitive kids they have ever had and that they have never seen kids strive to do well like we have. It’s kind of a backhanded compliment, and they mean it like a compliment but that it’s also a bad thing.

The sophomores are good at science, but that’s because the school system has been pushing it more on them because of grant money we have.

The freshmen this year are just dumb.

The seniors this year are pretty smart, but they do not perform academically as strong.

At my school, I heard class of 2013 to be most attracted to the freshman ('15)

LMAO

ONG THAT’S SO TRUE! ^ Lol

At my school:
Class of 2012: Last of the geniuses in all subjects will graduate with this class.
Class of 2013: Smart class overall but nothing spectacular like in previous years.
Class of 2014 and on: The stupid, arrogant people come along. Seriously, everyone in my school actually concedes to this, even the sophomores and freshman (though there are the occasional exceptions who offer a beacon of hope for these lost generations [see what I did there?])

My school:

2010 - Really good. Got a ton into Ivies/top schools. Lots of them were really chill.

2011 - Not too good. Only 6-7 kids went to Ivies and I’m guessing around 10% of the class at most is going to a top 30 or similar caliber school. I was friends with a lot of them though, and I’d say this grade was super chill.

2012 (my year) - Probably the best in my school’s history. We got like 7 Princeton acceptances, 3 Columbia, 3 MIT, 1 Yale, 3 Chicago, etc. I’m guessing 15-20% of the class is going to a top school while most of the rest are going to good schools as well.

2013 - They might get more top school acceptances than us next year, but they’re really lame. These kids are super competitive and a ton of them only care about getting in to college. These are the types of people who will retake 2350+ SATs, self-study a million APs, and choose ECs only based on how they will look on their resumes. Lots of people hate them because they’re pretty much boring grinds who only talk about school. Nothing like the top students of my grade, who were for the most part really chill.

2014 - Terrible. There are supposedly a couple of “super smart” kids, but they’re the type who just studies all day. Lame. I’m guessing that there will be at most 5 Ivy/top school acceptances for this grade.

2015 - Can’t really tell yet because they’re just freshmen, but they’re horrible for the most part. Most of these kids are either druggies or people who just don’t care about their futures.

I’d say the top kids in my class ('13) have the best chance of anyone at my school in the last decade or two of getting into an Ivy. Only time will tell.

I can’t truly comment on the grades at my school since pretty much everyone here is a slacker.

The class of '13 is absolutely terrible at my school. They are so stupid that all Junior AP’s were canceled for the very first time in school history. Only one of them has a chance of going anywhere special. He has a great shot a MIT believe it or not. The rest are just plain stupid.

'12- Not too smart. Still better than the class of '13. Best acceptances were to UNC and Wake.

'11- Geniuses to say the least. The more notable acceptances: 1 accepted to Brown, 2 accepted to Duke, 3 to UNC Chapel Hill, 1 to Wake Forest. Great for my school.

'14- My class. Guidance counselors say we have the most potential of any group that has came through in the past 10 years. We brought the AP system back to the school. I would say our class could be the first one to receive multiple Ivy acceptances, maybe 3. Probably 2-3 Duke, 2-6 Chapel Hill, 1-3 Wake Forest, 1-2 Davidson, and maybe an acceptance to Vanderbilt. I am currently in the lead in my class hoping to go to Brown, Duke or Chapel Hill, die hard Tar Heel ;)
