2013 Acceptances for prep schools

Wait-listed at SPS… only school I applied to :/

I’ll just have to wait and see I suppose. I wish there was a better way of knowing, like a graph that showed how many they wait-listed and the similar. I feel terrible D:

If you didn’t receive a package from Andover yet, does that mean you’ll either be rejected or waitlisted?

GoldenRatio: Congrats! :)

It’s weird, because I was rejected a Taft even though I didn’t complete my application, because I felt that it wasn’t the right school for me.

@confusedonhades: Thanks! By the way, your essays are all really good; your Hotchkiss one is much better than mine!

@keisha404: Haha, you make me want to check Loomis Chaffee’s website now. I opened up their application but never submitted; I also didn’t do an interview. But who knows…;)

@GoldenRatio if you get accepted to Loomis, I’m officially going to become your impersonator, because you’re just too smart. I guess I’m going to Choate this upcoming fall, haha.

@keisha404: Hahaha! No, I’m that that smart…did you get into any of your schools? I know you got a waitlist at Exeter.

I just checked the site, and someone mysteriously paid for my Loomis Chaffee application! I certainly know that my family did not pay for this school! Wha-?!

@GoldenRatio Hahaha, maybe they didn’t even care about the fee, so hey just waived it. A few of my schools announce decisions tomorrow, but so far:

Accepted: Loomis, Pomfret
Wait-listed: Exeter, St.George’s, and Governor’s

Mercersburg is my favorite school, so I’m staying up until 12 am tonight.

@GoldenRatio Thanks, but you are too kind. I really don’t believe they were that great, but thanks for the compliment I’m sure yours were fantastic.

Oh and of course Taft’s not-so-disappointing rejection letter.

@keisha404: Hahaha, I distinctly remember Loomis Chaffee spamming my inbox in after January 15, asking me to have a video interview with them…I threw them all in the trash, though. :p

Wow, that’s great, keisha404! You got two acceptances; more than what I got! And you want to impersonate me?

Hmm, Taft’s rejection letter was interesting. It sounded so robotish that my reaction was just, “Hmm? Oh, rejected? That’s nice…” The letter made me fall asleep again!

@confusedonhades: My Hotchkiss essays were pig slop. Gateway butchered them after I submitted the application; turns out, private schools had word limits! Hahaha, as you might be able to tell, Hotchkiss was my first application. ;)

GoldenRatio: Well it was probably for the best since you got like 80% of the tuition at Choate! :)

@confusedonhades: Well, I’m sure you’ll get a little something in the mail from Hotchkiss soon (coughcoughahugechunkoffinancialaid!coughcough)

@GoldenRatio I can only hope your right! We’ll see either tomorrow or Monday since I’m out of town today

@GoldenRatio Thank you! Congratulations to you as well! I was accepted to Pomfret, but placed on the waiting list for financial aid, so I’m a bit confused.

Of course I want to impersonate you! i wonder what it’d feel like to actually make sense when I speak and to be able to dance without injuring myself.

Haha I didn’t like Taft in general. I didn’t even bother to finish reading the rejection letter. Although, I will say that most of the admissions officers there seem to be extremely nice.

@confusedonhades: Good luck! And if Hotchkiss isn’t going to give you the full financial aid you need, then at least you still have Hill to look to!

Thanks! :)

@keisha404: ??? That’s bound to be confusing. So if you do go, you have to pay full, when you probably can’t afford it…so what was the point of admitting you in the first place? No offense intended.

Well, at least you can sing well. My singing is horribly off-tune. And you do make sense; I remember one of my first posts was about the “Chances” thread. Your explanation there made so much more sense then mine did (mine was just a bunch of philosophical/grandiose drivel!) Your posts in horseflyer’s Denied thread were also really well-written!

Gosh…this sounds really weird, doesn’t it? Sorry! I just have a memory for soaking up words, so that’s how I remember most everyone’s prior posts, etc. XD

I know right! Maybe someone will reject the school and then they will take me off the waiting list? If rarely anyone gets off the waiting list, why do they even have one and put so many people on it? I guess it’s just nice to know that they didn’t think I was that bad, haha. I’m kind of considering staying at my local high school this year, because I feel like I was unprepared and I didn’t have any knowledge of the process for applying to boarding schools. That would be a waste of all the time I spent writing essays and filling out applications though.
There’s always lip syncing, but you can’t fake dancing, haha. I don’t even remember that post!

@keisha404: I suppose a waitlist is a soft rejection. My Hotchkiss waitlist told me, “Yep, you’re good enough…but there were jut not enough spots. Too bad, so sad, bro.”

Is Loomis that undesirable? I heard that it had a few unique writing programs from another thread on this forum; you should definitely consider attending! The prestige does not matter; it’s the fit between you and the school And so what if you weren’t prepared? I was even less prepared! One month of continuous essay writing, no proof-reading, no consistent cohesiveness. LOL, and I’m going to go off to Choate! Everything is just a learning experience!

Lip syncing? groan I can’t even read lips, much less sync my lips to a tune. Hahaha, you don’t? …I’m pretty sure it was there.
