A merit scholarship overrides what you would have gotten as need-based aid. As such, it is possible that some of you will not get any financial aid beyond your scholarships. Look at it this way: a scholarship is an award that is used instead of financial aid, not in addition to financial aid, lest your financial situation allows the latter to happen. Some of you will get financial aid on top of your scholarships, but it depends on your financial situation. If your EFC was about 25-30k, it is likely you will not get any more aid from any college that gives you merit-based scholarships. The twenty-first century scholars program is brand new; see here for information: [Mount Holyoke College :: An Investment You Can Afford](http://www.mtholyoke.edu/offices/sfs/affordable.shtml).
