2014 SCEA hopefuls?

You almost made mistake by telling people. Everyone will know if you are not careful.
But dun worry. I am just saying something.

I did not tell anybody at all till March 30. I passed out. It was epic I heard, lol.
Stupid when I think of it now.

I wish I hadn’t told anyone!! But you can’t lie to people when they ask you if you applied Early anywhere, so now my entire class know. Granted my grade only has about 60 people. But I think 3 other people applied early, 2 from questbridge so not really SCEA. I don’t know who the other person is since there are a couple of people who may have done Stanford instead of Yale.

There are 2 others from my school doing SCEA. We had one get in through SCEA last year, but he ended up getting in HYPM and he ultimately chose Harvard.

I saw Yale lose a very good student to Harvard. This is what happened:

He (the student) led Collegeconfidentials Yale board against Harvard admits. We basically had a thread that said all the bad and sacrastic things about Harvard. Some Columbia, Princeton applicants came and got it too. WashU did not miss the fun either.

He was waitlisted @ Yale and Harvard took him.

I wanted to meet him so you know how I feel

Me and an underachieving (ranked 100 out of 400) legacy are the only ones applying to yale period

theres four from my school for scea.
most did stanford.
but in the yale crowd, we all have similar stats and excell at different ecs.

i have zero idea who will be accepted.

i’m the only one from my school applying to Yale. But i don’t think that that really means anything/helps me.

At this mind-numbing time, hours seem to fly faster than minutes while days stretch longer than months.

It’s all so stressful now that three ivies have already released. Honestly, it just needs to be Tuesday already!!!

^three? dartmouth and…?

^ …and Cornell and Columbia (both came out 5pm 2day)

our school went 2/2 for Cornell ED
I hope this is a good sign

UGHHH i just got MORE nervous reading all the Cornell rejections on CC

7 (out of ~130) at my school applied… and the 14% acceptance rate converts exactly to 1/7. Whoo.
Last year we had 6 apply, 3 accepted (1 recruited athlete). But they were all amazing applicants…

We probably have about 8-10 people(out of 800) applying from my school…urggggg…all higher class rank, but not as many EC’s…we’ll see. :-)

Countdown!!! woooooo

i’m the only one from my school this year
last year we had a boy get in EA
he had one point higher ACT, but i got URM
he had one more ap class, but i have more ECs

Sooooooo…idk…i’m not feeling so good about this

at this point it is what it is … chances are our fates at Y have already been decided

^ then why can’t they just LET US KNOW ALREADY?!?! lol.

also according to yale’s website it says “evening of december 15th,” so could I ask why almost everyone on this threat seems so sure that it will be 5 pm EST? is there previous precedent?

I’d take the URM status and the extra ECs over the slightly higher ACT score and extra AP class.

You’ll be fine on Tuesday, don’t even worry about it. ;)

Also, is anyone else really amazed at the fact that the big day is no longer in “a month” or even in “two weeks,” but “next Tuesday?”

Yes, it’s usually around 5. And 5 is generally considered the evening.
