2015 Admit: Harvard or USNA

I’m new to this forum… and this is a bit of an old post but I figured I would chime in because I was in your position. I want to be a navy doctor. I turned 8 year medical programs and my NROTC scholarship to at the Naval Academy. I know that I am not guaranteed to be able to go to medical school immediately after the Naval Academy, and I am more than willing to do something in the mean time like SWO or Submarine Warfare. Then, after three years try to lateral transfer into medical school, and the next year if I don’t make it, and so on and so on. Eventually I’ll make it lol. I decided on the Naval Academy because I want to serve and make a difference (preferably in medical core) and they force you the be the best person you can be in every part of your life. I know that this will be the best training for medical school I could possibly get. Also, the top notch education rivals Harvard… with no financial cost. I’ve been assured by lots and lots of people that USNA looks great on a medical school application and the people that USNA does send onto medical school right away get into the top medical schools in the country (including Havard, Columbia, and others). Also, The navy will pay for you to go to medical school- maybe not right away, depending on their needs, but eventually. This is just a little of what went into my decision.

If you want to know more, just personal message me… i have done a lot of research on the subject as im sure you have. Hope this helps
Hope to see you at I-day! Best wishes!
