2015 One Year Transfers?

Last year I attempted to transfer in one year. I had around 35 units in AP credit so I didn’t have to take too many classes. I actually ended up getting into UCSD but not admitted to the major (computer science) because of how impacted it is. In the end I chose to stay at CC another year for several reasons

  • I didn't get admitted into the major. Trying to get in once you arrive at the university is harder than trying to get in as a transfer.
  • I still had some useful classes I could take at CC. Because I've stayed, I'll have completed literally every possible major prep class before I transfer.
  • I'm also saving a lot of money staying at a CC and working another year.

BIG NOTE: Consider cross-enrolling at a UC or CSU school. In California, any community college student can take any lower-div class at a CSU or UC for basically free.

I’m currently taking a cs class at UCSD right now and only had to pay a $60 registration fee. In the end, I’m still at UCSD (part of the time) this year!
