2016 - 2017 USC Transfer

wow ppl who submitted their grades in the past few days hear back already! I wonder if it has to do with their majors. like political science and economic do not have many applicants compare to Marshall or vitberi applicants.

submitted my sgr early May and still haven’t heard back yet. Marshall applicant 4.0 spring grade

@pomeranian4rich i think your right. it might be based on the majors.

@Childishme23 was undeclared your first major or alternative major?

@Childishme23 do you mind listing the 31 units of classes you took?

@katwhooo I will be a sophomore with 55 units

@mr.transfer have you taken any accounting courses? I have yet to take any and I’m worried that I won’t be able to finish the major in 3 years

@katwhooo if you’re not double majoring, I’m sure you can finish in three years. take extra classes each semester or take summer classes if you feel you’re behind. you only need to take two accounting courses I think, accounting and managerial which takes up two semesters

my bad. I thought you were a bus admin major. regardless of that. you’ll be an incoming sophomore so you have a year to finish financial and managerial accounting(plenty of time), and you can start your upper division courses your junior year. idk if you need to take bus Econ but if you do you can try to take it during the summer to avoid a heavy course load during the semester if you can’t handle it.

@pomeranian4rich
I am a business admin major, I’m hoping to get into Leventhal, but I was looking at the accounting courses and there seems to be a lot, so I’m wondering if it’s worth it to not have room for electives. I’ve barely started on my GEs, so my schedule will be filled with GEs and buad/accounting courses. Maybe I’ll just stick with bus admin.

Has any annenberg applicant been admitted into PR yet? i was accepted two months ago and am still waiting to hear back for my first major

I figured out through the portal, actually I had a feeling I was going to be admitted yesterday because I got an “Ability to benefit” request in the financial aid tab, which they only send to admitted students

@katwhooo bus admin and accounting are two different fields. bus admin will provide you with a broad understanding of business, while accounting will provide an in-depth knowledge of accounting, preparing you for the CPA exam. You can always take GEs in the summer since they are easy. I barely started my GEs too, in fact i’m taking two GEs right now in the summer before transferring to USC (if i get in…lol).

@pomeranian4rich Hey, I really hope that you get in, you have been really interactive and provide some knowledgeable information. Good luck to you!

Good luck to everyone waiting!

@mcrich115 did you get your letter yet? and what date was on the letter

Speaking of GE talk, I’d recommend you guys stay away from LING 210 with Professor Disner if that’s ever a class you have/want to take. Not even the pure linguistics major managed to get an A in the class lol. It may have been the TA. Everybody agreed that she was brutal with grading. Probably better to take that class with just about anybody else.

I was denied today. I have new information and would like to submit an appeal. I didn’t have an admissions counselor so how should I submit my appeal? Should I email the admissions office the appeal?

letter says June 9th

@KatyaZ I’m really sorry to hear that :\ I hope your new information can turn everything around with your appeal. and do you mind telling us your stats? and major?

Use this site to find your admission counselor in your area. wish you best of luck!

Would love to hear any Annenberg feedback on SGR’s submitted already (unfortunately, I have to wait to submit mine on June 21st, which means I probably won’t hear back til mid-July! Ugh SMC)

@sarahouslyyy when you submitted your SGR’s in person, were you able to submit it directly to your counselor or admissions office?
