Honestly same! @xerxes96
Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted! Hopefully the rest of us won’t have to wait too much longer
Fml haven’t even submitted spring grades yet cause my school just finished last week and they aren’t available til the 1st… I’m so nervous at this point guys
@LACCryan my financial had updated last night and yours was this morning, so my gut is telling me you’ll hear tomorrow!!!
Yeah, I logged onto my portal and I immediately saw the little hashtag on the side bar “IGotIntoUSC” (I think that’s what it said, it’s gone now) and then the portal will have a new option that says “Applicant Decision Notification” which will direct you to your acceptance letter.
My stats are a little weird: I have a 3.8 GPA at SMC, about 45 units completed, I think I had really strong essays/2 teacher recommendations; but I’m also a returning student (I’m 26).
When I was 18 and first enrolled in College, I signed up full-time for classes for like four semesters in a row and never attended (ever, not even one class). So the transcript from that College literally shows like 14 straight W’s and then there was one semester where my teachers didn’t automatically drop me so I had like a total of 4 F’s. So I actually don’t know what my actual GPA is if you add those F’s. Maybe I can get them pardoned in the future because they really should be W’s but I know USC counts that in my GPA, I’m kind of scared to know what it is…
Anyway the next step for me is seeing their financial aid offer, which will be a huge factor if I can attend… does anybody know how long it usually takes to receive that after getting accepted?
BEST OF LUCK to everyone still waiting I really think most going out are acceptances
@journalism89 I go to SMC as well
@journalism89 your financial aid package if u get a decision mailed to you should be incluided with your letter …i thought the fafsa thing updated after a few days when you receive your decision
@LACCryan I’m from the SF Bay Area
Congrats to those who got in, and for those still waiting, I’M PRAYING FOR YOU!!
Also…
Is there like a facebook page for new transfers? I want to meet you guys, and possibly make some new friends!
Also, I’m just curious to know if any of you are looking for roommates. USC housing is full atm, so I’m looking at Gateway and Tuscany apartments near campus. Would really like to find roommates instead of getting randomly assigned.
@daRamz oh great!! I had no idea they came together. It says mine was sent out today so hoping to receive it in the next few days, thanks!
@itslife123 awesome! What’s your major?
when did you get accepted @Oneday1997
@John6311 yea!!
@John6311 oh lol, read your post wrong. I found out on the 26th of June (came in on the 25th), but the letter was dated June 22nd. Are you still waiting to hear back?
what do you guys do for housing? I’m struggling to find a place
@nhtrvn I feel you. I’m looking for some roommates to share a space at the gateway apartment thats right across the street from campus. Let me know if ur interested!
@journalism89 that actually makes me feel quite a bit better that’s almost the exact same as me (dear god I don’t want to know what my GPA would be but it’s definitely not anything like what I’ve gotten now), did terrible in my first few semesters and then left (basically said I’m not mature enough for college right now and I’d rather not make it worse, so I’ll come back when I’m ready) and then when I returned 2 years ago I’ve racked up a 3.8 and A’s in all my pre-req courses with about 60 units, so your acceptance actually puts me at rest a bit.
@itslife123 No SGR. No conditions as far as I can tell. The document simply says congrats on the first page, and on the second page says the major I was accepted to, and the conditions to admissions says: “contingent upon verification of academic records, satisfactory complete of coursework, avoidance of academic and behavioral misconduct.”
For spring I was taking calc 3 (multi variable), physics (1st part of calc based series) and gen chem (1st part). At the time of applying I was somewhere around 3.94 gpa. But that gpa was “fluffed up” by a lot of lower classes that I had to work my way up from (I started in elementary algebra). If I had to guess what my transferable gpa was, I’d say somewhere around 3.6-3.7. All GE’s/English requirements were completed at the time of applying. Also, the only programming class I took was an intro to logic/programming class.
I am still waiting. If I get accepted I do want to live in Gateway or Tuscany @Oneday1997
@tleee12345 Wow that’s awesome!! Its so weird how u didnt get a Sgr considering how late you received your acceptance. I know people who had 3.8 gpa with all physics, chem , math done who got Spring admitted. Admissions is alittle unpredictable. Perhaps all they care is about that number down the transcrip
And lastly @tleee12345 what was ur Gpa for the spring?
