2016 - 2017 USC Transfer

A link just appeared on my admissions thing saying “click here to submit mid-year grades”? my senior year report? has anyone else ever gotten this?

@PolinaMadison
Yes I just got the same thing! I was wondering what it meant. Maybe it’s a SGR?

@USChopeful5 I just emailed my admissions guy (and I just got a response that says he’s out of the office until May 3rd), but after I sent that, a few seconds later, the link went away.

@PolinaMadison Yeah mine just went away also

@topchoiceschool PROVEN SO TRUE! I got so much attention in terms of networking and recruitment when I updated professionals and recruiters that I’m attending USC in the fall! The Trojan network goes a long way. Most importantly, TROJAN FAMILY TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER!!

Got an SGR earlier this week? Is that a good sign?

Do they take into account grade deflation? I go to Boston University and I have a pretty high gpa (3.85) but my second semester may be a bit lower. Wondering how they weigh that

My buddy in Viterbi admissions says transfer results in Viterbi wouldn’t get posted till later May…

@manuealesc how were you notified, mail or portal? What did it say?

@1khalil9 Im not sure how they weight it either, but I know in my TTP catalog it stated that you must have at least a 3.6 overall GPA to successfully transfer, but I realized that people still got in with their GPA being lower.

I’m so nervous because I think i’m gonna get an SGR :frowning:

I got accepted to Berkeley and I would never attend that place nor send my kids there in a million years. I would much sooner go to UCLA over Berkeley, and obviously I chose USC over UCLA, so observe that inductive logic. I work at a large financial institution, and Berkeley is developing a really negative reputation for the nonsensical protests taking place on campus and the angsty graduates they produce. Their graduates have a really hard time adjusting to workhorse nature of industry, and are known to act incredibly entitled and insubordinate to management.

At least within the financial services industry, Berkeley is the only school I’m aware of that employers would actually view as a negative addition to a resume.

Rejected to Berkeley HAAS, waitlisted to UCLA Biz/Econ, and waiting for USC Marshall (come through for me SC) haha (BTW 3.95 gpa)

Greetings. I was accepted to USC Marshall School of Business today. I am transferring from Santa Monica College. I probably won’t go to USC since I have better options. Congrats to the people who got in and good luck everyone who still are waiting

I recently got into UCLA for biz econ and, even though I always wanted to go to USC, I did a tour today and really liked the campus and everything. Besides the network at USC, do u guys believe the education there at Marshall is better/as good as biz econ at UCLA? Why is UCLA biz econ much harder to get in in comparison to Marshall? I’ve heard a Marshall graduate (who is a personal banker) saying that you don’t even have to go to class, just take the tests and graduate, its super easy, etc etc… Some other people who currently attend Marshall seems to be proud that they can cheat, don’t go to class and still do well etc. That is definitely something I don’t like, and I always thought Marshall was a top business school. Any thoughts?

@undercovergenius Where do you plan on going?

Any TTP who haven’t heard back yet?

@undercovergenius Stats? I’m coming from SMC as well.

@undercovergenius cograts!I am attending SMC, too. I am waiting for my USC acceptance. Are you international student?? Honestly, I did not get any request from USC. But I got an email about financial aid and scholarship from USC. waiting is painful to me…Congrats friend!!

I’m on TTP that hasn’t heard back yet, but I was asked to submit my spring grades which I submitted on Friday. I believe there were others on TTP and received an SGR as well @js119999

@imgonnagetin I honestly think that UCLA’s biz econ is hyper selective simply because of how it seems like everybody in the world applies to it - seriously, it’s crazy. I don’t think any other major in the L&S school has nearly as many applicants (although, I believe psychology is close). And I think they just have to be more selective as a public school and can’t afford to really be “holistic” (even if they say they are). I remember one poster on here from the 2014 USC transfer thread that got into Marshall with a GPA that I’d describe as “pretty okay” - it was under 3.0. That would never happen at UCLA.

I’m not familiar with Marshall all that much, but some people are just really smart and don’t have to go to class :stuck_out_tongue: I wish I was like them, lol.
