@IBProspect123 I haven’t received anything about fin. aid. YouSC indicates my fin. aid app is in review. I applied to SCA as first choice and Dorn as Undec. I’m low-income (presently a full-time independent student). What about you?
@zettasyntax Hmm nothing along those lines, it was a very direct email stating what I needed to submit and why. It even mentioned “This notice is not an indication of an admission decision. Financial aid information is gathered and reviewed for all financial aid applicants, regardless of admission status” lol.
@weeanonymouse I’m a low-income student as well & I work part-time while living at home. Hopefully our financial aid packages will meet all our need!
I got accepted to Marshall !!! Received the admission package yesterday - postmarked May 3 ! So excited to be a Trojan. Congrats to all those who got in and for those of you who are waiting, good luck!! FIGHT ON!
@IBProspect123 I have no idea then lol The ability to benefit from one last year had that exact line too and it was an indicator. We need more data about this year’s lucky financial aid email I guess
Just btw, I’m rather low-income too and USC covered 100% of my educational costs with their university grant and other grant aid. They just stuck me with the bill when it came to housing and suggested I take out loans/do work-study. If I had medical insurance, I would have had a surplus amount that would’ve gone toward housing and made me consider it instead of commuting
@isan2018 Congrats!!! What’s your stats?
anyone know the chance of a SGR applicant(sophomore) with a 4.0 spring semester being rejected?
has anyone from a private 4 year heard back from Marshall?? if so please share your stats. would be immensely appreciated!!
@AtBestBuffalo thank you! I am trying to transfer to USC CS program. Could you inform me that if I got in, can I choose live on campus. Why are you transferring out from USC Veryibi, it is such a prestigious and top ranking program plus the financial award you have. Hopefully I got into Vertibi, It is my dream!
Been speaking with my admissions counselor on email, she is in the process of reviewing applications right now (including mine!). Lisa Rhone.
My acceptance letter arrived today! My yousc.edu has not been updated yet though, oddly enough…

I applied to Marshall and got an SGR on Wednesday (5/4). Does anyone know if getting an SGR is a good sign or not? I have a 4.0 in the 6 classes (20 credits) I’m taking this semester at a California CC.
@Sxsxjx wait, did she just straight out tell you she was reviewing your application? What major did you applied to? More details please lol.
@10392847
I got in from a private 4 year, I shared my stats previously if you’re interested ^^
Hey guys, I’m new to this thread. I just saw it and decided to join! I also applied to USC as a transfer this fall. I got an SGR but I’m still waiting for final grades to post so I can submit them. The wait is killing me!!!
So I just noticed that there has been an update to my portal with a link to “Click here to submit mid-year grades online.” (in the check application status). I’m then redirected to a link to self report my “fall terms high school grades”. Sounds a little odd because I’m a transfer student with 60+ units and I have been out of high school for over a handful of years. Obviously, I’ll reach out to admissions during normal business hours but in the meantime, can anyone point help shed some light on this? Thanks!
I received my acceptance to Marshall today in the mail! I was ecstatic to receive it and am excited to join the Trojan fam, no SGR. Here are my stats in case people are curious:
Transferring from a 4 year private institution in SoCal
GPA: 3.86
Units applied with: 47
Units in progress: 15
EC: had 8/10 of them filled; 2 were from leadership positions in HS, the rest were all internship, work, and volunteer experience in college
Essays: focused on my ambitions and centered my general essay toward USC and its core values. supplemental essays concise but obviously ambitious and eager to learn
Fill-ins: pretty quirky and hilarious if I do say so myself
2 letters of rec from an English professor and World Religions professor, both who loved me a lot!
submitted at 10pm the day of the deadline.
Got accepted on Thursday, and the letter was dated 05/04. Here are my stats
Cali CC
School: Sol Price
Major: Public Policy
GPA: 3.84 with 5 Withdrawals
All my major prereqs are done, including the GE’s.
Units applied with: 61
In progress: 8
No SGR
Goodluck to all you guys.
@LACCryan Hey! I just made an account to ask about this same thing. I feel like this might be a SGR but I’m not sure I was going to ask admissions about it as well.
