@Whitelightninggq I had an average gpa of 3.5 and 1860 SAT, a lot of campus involvement. My appeal reasoning was my gpa jump to a 4.1 senior year

Hi everyone! I applied for UCSC and was placed on the waitlist. I appealed the decision, and found out today that my appeal was denied. I am still on the waitlist. Does anyone think I will get in?
Here are my stats
GPA: 3.6
SAT: 1890
participated in many extracurriculars, was the editor of my school newspaper
my compelling reason to appeal was because my sophomore and junior year I had to take care of my mom for medical reasons, and it affected my school work.
Does anyone think I will make it in off the waitlist. I plan on SIRing to Cal Poly SLO if not

did they email you saying you had been accepted? Sorry I’m just trying to get an idea of what to look for (I made the mistake of getting my hopes up). Was it just like a random email for UC Santa Cruz admissions saying you got in, or was there any lead up to you being accepted? Thanks.
@Inevitable15 Yea I just got an email saying I got in off the waitlist. Didn’t get any emails about it before. Don’t lose hope!

I know this is a waitlist thread, but my son has heard absolutely nothing from UCSC to date. Accepted at UCSB and UCD (TAG), waitlist at UCSD, rejected at UCLA. CC to UC transfer, GPA 3.5 ish, Psych major. Does this mean he is probably going be rejected, or waitlisted at UCSC? It’s just odd that they are accepting off the waitlist and he can’t heard anything yet. He has great options, but I feel like UCSC is the best “fit” for him. You have to marvel at the some of the oddities of UC admissions/rejections!

i’m pretty surprised i got in… 3.32 gpa with 2080 sat score. also lots of volunteering at my local church

My son was admitted off the waitlist today! Not sure what he will do as he was not expecting this based on all we have been told, very much a surprise!
same!! i’m sure the heavy involvement in environmental advocacy + research was what got me off! 
Going for cog sci and hoping to get into design for a career though! Does anyone know if their cognitive science major is more imp sci focused?

haha a lot of people also got in from the waitlist on April 20th (4/20), and a lot of people got in today at 4:20pm. coincidence???
I also found out I got in today at 4:22! 3.6 GPA, 1850 on the sat, and lots of extracurriculars. I appealed and did not get in. Majoring in literature I believe.
Got off the wait list yesterday! 3.9 GPA 24 ACT 1760 SAT. Wait listed to long beach state and UC Irvine as well.
