2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

I should not have read last year’s thread. :-SS

@InTheNightSky95 why?

@aj0927 How did you inform them?

@Skepta False hope lol. What little patience I had is now gone.

@uscapplied through the portal

If I would like to submit additional information through my portal. What would be considered additional information?

@uscapplied anything you want to tell them

@aj0927 I had a recent unexpected death in my family beginning my spring quarter and I guess you could say it had a mild impact on my grades. They have requested SGR and I am afraid that these grades might poorly reflect my full potential. Would this be something appropriate to explain in the additional info?

@uscapplied I am so sorry for your loss… That is definitely something you should let them know, however, and I am really trying to word this carefully… be sure to tell them in a way that really explains your situation while taking accountability for your grades.
This sounds terribly brusque… but USC receives so many applications with people that are all going through life… So 100% recommend you contact them, but make sure your sincerity translates into words on your letter so it is completely genuine so that they don’t think you are using your story to explain away your grades.

I really am not trying to offend, because I had a death in the family this semester too and its definitely super rough, which is the biggest understatement. Just my two cents is to be sure your letter to them really encompasses your personal reasons for letting them know the story so that they do not misunderstand and take it as an excuse.

sigh another 2 am passes by with nothing.

viterbi where u at???

lol wishing I tried much harder in high school, so I wouldnt be having to go through this.

@Skepta high school is too hard, for me, it’s almost like everyone is trying to bring me down. College is SO MUCH EASIER

@Chasexm I totally feel. Luckily for me while my hs was compeptaive af, my friends (who are much smarter than me LOL) did help me out during hard times. Lmao just as an example, Im an outlier since literally all my friends are places like Cal, UCLA, upenn, 3 at stanford and 2 at brown, while im at a cc.

:confused: I’m at a CC too and I know the feeling… I feel like my GPA is way too low(3.6) to get accepted to dornslife :////// even tho I got straight A on my midterm grade report and upward trend on transcripts, this makes me feel like shit. If I don’t get in my only choice is going to BU

@ryanebra Congratulations! My daughter is in the same situation as you, however has NOT heard yet from SCA film and tv production. She was rejected by UCLA tft (accepted comp lit) and hasn’t heard from LMU film yet. She also received the email from the SCA admissions director around the same time you did asking for an unofficial transcript, which we sent in within minutes. She attends a ccc and has 60+ credits in their scholars program and 4.0 gpa. WE HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT TO THINK NOW! But, like you, we agree what is meant to be will be. Good luck! She MAY see you there, but I’m nervous she should’ve received her package as you did, since you seem to be on the same timeline. USC is her 1st choice as well.

@jajules I applied to LMU on Feb 1 and got rejected March 17 so maybe it’s a good thing you haven’t heard yet?

@srg999 While I am so sorry you were rejected from LMU, you give me hope. Thank you for sharing that. I HOPE you get accepted into USC!

@mellyjune I take no offense to this. Thank you it is extremely helpful. I appreciate your kind words and I am sorry to hear about your loss.

lol well today was a letdown, no packages from my usps just a couple random mail pieces.
