Has anyone that has been accepted already received their Fin Aid / would be okay explaining the amount the received? I should be getting mine by the end of this week, but I am very curious as to how much USC gives in aid. Thanks!
@greenpotatoe If it is addressed from USC and is priority mail then it is an acceptance package. If you are no longer living in your previous address, then the package is going to be sent back to USC regardless. But you should call and give them your current address.
@bxnditx yea its from usc and it says priority mail.I don’t wanna get my hopes up though…Should I e-mail my counselor or just wait for my portal to update? I don’t understand y they didn’t send it to my permanent address.
Just sent my spring grades last night and counselor rollerson confirmed this morning that she received them… wish me luck :-SS
@greenpotatoe Wait for your portal to update. It should be updated by the end of this week. If it was a rejection letter being sent, your portal would have already updated. And yeah that seems pretty odd that they didn’t send it to your permanent address. Rejection letters come in first class mail btw. I am like 99.9% sure you’ve been accepted.
This wait is just crazy!! I won a huge scholarship grant from an outside organization and they are patiently waiting to hear the news from USC before releasing their awardees list to the media…ugh!! The stress!!
Congrats to everyone that just received their good news!!!
anybody with SGRs wanna room ?
@pantafootball2 I recall an applicant getting a C in business calc a few years ago as well, but he was non-trad, so I’m not sure how that factors into the situation. He was accepted for the fall semester and it was mid-July, I believe. I remember this because I was rejected a few days before he heard his good news
@zettasyntax so you think I should kinda be fine with a B in calculus ? I got As in my general ed courses and English requirements
Has anybody who was accepted gotten their TCR yet?
@pantafootball2 Getting a B is more than fine in my opinion, but at this point, I really think it matters on your admission counselor to a large degree. If you had Rakin Hall for instance, he seems to reject applicants that don’t get A’s in their math courses. I believe that’s why I was rejected and another person on here was recently rejected from the same reason from what I can tell. I just hope your counselor is one of the nice ones that doesn’t expect 100% perfection
@nvz1997 A fair number of people seem to have their tuition entirely covered, but it takes some rather special circumstances for them to take care of housing costs. This seems like a pretty good deal to me I only had to rely on student loans when I took summer classes. They offer next to nothing in terms of aid for summer classes.
@greenpotatoe My package came priority as well but I’m not sure how the denials were sent. My acceptance was dated June 17th. They only give 2 weeks to accept the admission offer so I would definitely call USC to find it what you can do.
Does anyone know how financial aid works? I submitted a fafsa a few months ago but I’m not sure exactly what I’m waiting for now.
Just submitted my appeal through both emails and delivered it in person, who else is appealing and have Bruce Grier as the admission counselor?
@zettasyntax well good thing I don’t have that counselor… mine seems nice through email so hopefully that’s a good thing haha
ACCEPTED!!! Viterbi sophomore applicant for the fall 2017! Beyond happy right now. Wow…
congrats!
@Chasexm I am appealing as well, but I do not have your counselor. I know that @Roxy22 is on the same boat as you with Bruce. hopefully all ends well for us.
congrats @greenpotatoe !! did your system just update or something? i keep checking mine but I don’t have anything yet.
