2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

@LNK1999 I had over 10 W’s and still got accepted. But I explained them in my essay. USC is truly holistic in its admission process

so if we are having trouble submitting the deposit due to an error with their website we should call?

does anyone know how the TCR works… I got access to my oasis and clicked on it and it shows only one of the schools I attended and only 16 units… UMMMM I’m transfering in as a junior SOO that is a huge problem

@transferkid24 yes.

@angeleno13 If your official transcripts sent in are completely up to date and it’s been 4-6 weeks since you’ve submitted them I would call. I know the orientation page mentioned some transfer classes will be approved at orientation. As an out of state admit I am planning on bringing copies of the syllabi for any classes I don’t see on my TCR that I think should transfer.

@MBlue98 Maybe they just missed your request. You can rescind your request then re-request admission to the group, that way a new notification will pop up. Also, if your name on FB doesn’t match your name on your application you might want to send a message.

anybody knows how soon we can get the decision after we submit the SPG? My official transcripts was sent to USC last week, shall we need to wait to July to receive the result?

I am assuming that at this point those of us still waiting are being considered for Spring admission & our recently submitted grades are being assessed for articulation. Sound about right @CADREAMIN ?

3 of my friends from my CC were already rejected from SC after sending in their grades and we all sent them in around the same time…Also, 3 more of my friends from my CC are still waiting alongside me (we have quite a few little aspiring Trojans on campus).

@Capital_Dan Things change with people/majors/schools all summer long. Students commit, uncommit, etc. So it should not be assumed it is all about spring admission for here on out. There is still a chance for fall. Hang in there, wishing you and the cc faithful good news soon!

Does anyone know if usc publishes transfer info/demographics/by-college admit numbers? I’ve googled a bit but came up short.

Haven’t people got in for fall even like mid July?

Just found out my tuition and fees are totally covered by financial aid!!

Just got my aid as well!!! It’s looks amazing and all I gotta cover is my spring off campus housing which is hella cheap anyways. Now all I have to worry about is fighting to get my classes to transfer over so I can graduate on time and pay off these loans from my previous college LMAOOO.

Yea I’m pretty confused about my STARS report, my CCC has an articulation agreement and I followed that to the T in regards to my general ed classes, but it’s showing that I’ve only satisfied one category so far? I just mailed my spring grades to them, so maybe it will change after they look again.

Has anyone heard anything back about SCA scholarships?

@EDodgeCayman Hey! I emailed a counselor with the same question he said things should be updated in the next few months or less since the transfer credit people are caught up doing the freshman and fall kids. They also said during orientation is where you can present some of the stuff you feel was left out or overlooked for a double check

@EDodgeCayman Transfer scholarships have been given, but why are you asking about scholarships if all your tuition is paid? Scholarships replace aid btw, someone can’t “make money” not paying for college.

@EDodgeCayman Yeah, I have to agree with @blueskies2day on this one. When I tried out for the Topping Scholarship, one of the current scholars said that if we were awarded the scholarship, it could not be applied to expenses like housing, etc :frowning: That was my main reason for wanting the scholarship in the first place, lol. :stuck_out_tongue: She said USC would re-adjust our financial aid package accordingly. The typical award for the Topping Scholarship is 5K, so she said USC would do something like reduce our university grant by 5K. So if your tuition is already covered (mine was as well), a scholarship may not really change things at all. I guess if there’s a nice little community involved (like the Topping Scholarship), maybe that would offset the bummer of not really having your FA package change since other perks are involved.

I usually reference this as well:
“Individual awards will vary depending on your financial aid package and/or the number of qualified applicants. Receipt of award monies may alter the allocation of funds within your financial aid package. For example, a student’s previously-awarded grant amount may decrease in some situations. Scholarships awarded may only be used to replace University tuition costs and may not be used to cover housing, books, fees, or meal plans”

@blueskies2day I’m not trying to “make money” not paying for school. That’s a pretty bold assumption there. I’m not the only SCA person who applied for a scholarship, and there’s a number of us who have been waiting. I was just curious if they had gotten back to anyone yet, I’m more than happy with my financial aid package

Accepted for Spring '19 Viterbi CS!! Found out 6/15 on Portal. Receives packaged on 6/16. Good luck to those still awaiting their decision :>

Congratulations @paintwithcrayons! Are you a SPG?

Hey guys my financial aid award has yet to be posted. For those of you who have already received yours, did you get an email or any sort of notification? I’m super anxious to see mine!
